Hey guys, this is like my first or second post ( I don't remember exactly). Lately I've been having this obsessively aware of my loneliness. I feel lonely all the time, the whole ****ing day. I have no friends at all, it's really amazing to say the least. I feel so sad, and depressed because of it, I just think ending it all would be easy. ... by No_Imagination

Hola, People use to have the impression that avoidants are sloopy people, careless of their higiene. My last psychologist put the stress on the importance of taking care of the image we project other people. It's not for narcissist reason but bc we have a part of our self-steem which is fed by the feedback other people provide us. That is,... by April72

It's been over a decade since I've used this site, I had to recreate my password. But Im glad to be back. I remember I was 16 when i created this account, now I'm 26. I really appreciate all the happy birthdays from SPW, too. I thought I would change after a decade but apparently like everyone: my childhood transfers into my adulthood. Overall, I... by Lonely24/7

There is a guy at my volunteer place that I feel inferior to because he flirts with girls and get girl's phone numbers (I think at least) and for another reason (I am to scared to say). It also has to do with me not talking to girls in person and he is able to do it easily, plus my possible avpd and the fact that I don't talk to anybody male or... by Marc7

I have been isolated for probably around 11 years now. I have had friends before but only 1, 2 or 3 and only for a short time. They found better friends to be around with. I don't blame them though.. At first I thought it was only just pure shyness and that it will disappear over time. but it did not.. So I thought there must really be... by FallingWind

Does anyone here feel scared to open themselves up to new experiences because past ones didn't go so well? I'm only 29 but have lived through a lot in my lifetime. I can't imagine what the future has in store for me, it's quite worrisome actually to think about. Cancer? Being cheated on? A loveless relationship? Something worse? Perhaps the whole... by treegirl

Hi there. I'm a male from Europe who was recently diagnosed with AvPD. After many years of people not understanding me, this was a great relief to be honest. Some of my issues suddenly make more sense. So now, my intention is to learn more about myself, and the diagnosis itself. I also wish to interact with others who have AvPD, so that we might... by ClutterHead

I've read that people with AvPD have a tendency to escape to fantasy. I can relate, as I've hid in fantasies and daydreams many times in my life, from early childhood and all the way up to present day. The types of fantasy/daydream have varied over the years, but many of them are undoubedtly a coping mechanism, and a way to fight depression,... by ClutterHead

Hello Everyone :) I currently have this problem. I fear so much being hurt and inevitably rejected that I avoid intimate relationships. At times I push away people that I care about, become emotionally inconsistent, distant and detached. There's just this enormous fear of trusting and being vulnerable to possible emotional pain. Does anyone... by Katasura

So, I currently have two part-time jobs. I am working on a master's degree in one field in which I work. I know within the next 3 years there will be more (full-time) positions in the organization in which I work. There will be one new location, and the one I currently work at it moving, which will result in the need for more employees. Initially,... by lilmutegirl

I recently found out that my ex-husband, who just moved back into the same city in which I live, started a job at the same company where by boyfriend works. Not only that, but his wife will be working for the library system I work for, only at a different location than the one I work at. I sincerely hope she finds another job somewhere else she... by lilmutegirl

Hi, So basically I'm not a social person. When I was younger I was very social and active, but after a few horrible experiences later in life when people were extremely mean and hostile towards me, I became antisocial. Not that I'm feeling low or unconfident about it. I'm fine with it. The question is: How should you deal with people who try to... by lonewolfgirl

I think I have Avoidant Personality Disorder, I have researched for different disorders for the past year and this one suits me the most. I began searching last when I almost failed my final year degree project because I could not consult with my supervisor and worse did not hand in my project because I knew it was not good enough. By the way I am... by Wizzy

Hey guys, I've never officially been diagnosed with anything (need to avoid mental health professionals lol) but fit overwhelming amounts of diagnostic criteria for both social anxiety for the past almost 10 years and even AVPD. I am much better at handling my anxiety... I mask it with disassociation/apathy. Probably not any healthier though! ... by sahxox

Have the avoidants an antiposting symdrom? Come on, it's not so difficult to write a pile of nonsenses like me. Ask about your worries, your sufferings, your fears, your suscess, your failures, your wishes... Rant if you need it. by April72
