My pretty niece is very shy and it's worrying me a lot. I think she has a lot going for her but she's just so insecure and anxious about how she looks. I'm thinking maybe it's because of what she's been through when she was young. Parents always fought, dad was an addict (who died young). I want to encourage her to do activities that will help... by toowilling

I bought a new shower curtain. It is generic. It was on sale at Target The colors are neutral It is not kid-themed I told SIL that I bought a new shower curtain. Her reply: "ok, as long as it's not vulgar." Oh bloody hell, I missed the boat on that one. Where can I find a vulgar shower curtain? I'm in the mood to piss people off. by cowboyup

Hi I've been taking benzos for nearly 2 years on a daily basis ( although I did take a 6 week break). I've tried Valium (up to 40mg: max dose), Lorazepam (up to 10mg), Prazepam/Lysanxia (60mg/ 120 drops) I didn't start at those doses I started at low doses & worked my way up to the maximum doses ( on a few days I took more than the maximum... by Depression4life

So along with being shy I find often I am incoherent when speaking, my mind tends to panic and the words that come up are all jumbled. If I ever am asked to explain anything I automatically panic and doubt myself. Does anyone have any tips on how to improve this aspect? There isn't really anyone close to me I feel able to talk to this about. by johndoe54

Hello All This is my first post. I am really seeking advice, comments or feedback. Anything really? I have been/was dating my work colleague for six months. He is highly sensitive. Extremely to the point. If you say something or do something even by accident, he will remember it and hold it against you for months. He gets very hurt easily.... by newbie2017

Today I hung out with my mom. We went to a couple of stores and ate at a restaurant. But by the time I got back home I was feeling pretty down. Any time I'm out somewhere in public with one of my parents I feel absolutely pathetic. Most guys my age (35) have a wife, a girlfriend, or friends that they can go out with. And there I am with my... by kuurt

So that's the question I've been asking myself since I was 10. I don't feel like people hate me, I know for sure. All my once closest friends litterally come right out and say they can't stand who I am or anything about me. I don't know why, I would be perfectly ok with it all if I could just figure out why they all dislike me so I can change that... by EmDash

What's your worst quality? One that you don't like about yourself, even hate. But you acknowledge? Mine is I probably have a tenancy to (for the majority of time) to be quite understanding about others predicaments. Then I sort of get tired of being so 'understanding' all the time them don't give a shit about other people for a while. by PugofCrydee

I have seen a few different psychologist and psychiatrist in my life. Yet I've never been able to tell them much about my past. They always seemed satisfied with only knowing my symptoms. It probably doesn't help that I'm extremely shy and can't say two words in a row. Since I don't seem to be interesting enough for my doctors I thought why not... by Phantasystar4

How much does you anxiety prevent you from being productive? Sometimes, I persevere and get things done (which makes me feel better), but, quite often, I have intentions of doing something, but circumstances (or just my own fears) cause me to delay, or not take steps to complete my task. Right now, I feel trapped in my house. I live in a townhome,... by lilmutegirl

The reason why I ask is because erm I think I maybe one but not in a scary sort of way. I used to see this girl at my last job, thought she was beautiful. Unfortunately she wasn't on my team but I used to see quite regurlar without saying hi. Closest thing we had of communication was a smile we exchanged and I missed a big chance when she was... by SilentAndShy

It's been a lingering thought for me ever since I've started to realize the situation I'm in. After a series of events of self-realisation and introspection, I've come to notice the odd sense of doubt for the future I have. I know that I may be able to get a job after college, and that I might perform well at it, but then again, I just think of... by Lionhearted

Today I had to stand up and speak in front of a group of people. Even though I just had to read according to what I already wrote down, I still couldn't help trembling. My legs trembled so bad that everyone was glancing at them. Guess that's the consequence of trying to avoid as much as I could to speak up in front of people. I have had the same... by Canres

Hi everyone. Well, the reason for writting this is mainly to unburden myself, as I can't do it in current life because I don't find anyone who I can trust in enough to tell my struggles. I feel really bad because I don't work like most people do and I feel so useless right now. I'd love to have a stable job and have a life of my own,... by ana0989

Does anyone else experience this? I met with people from a similar forum to this and after having a lovely day out none bothered to keep in contact with one another. Instead they go back to the forum to moan about their lives again. Why are most people so two-faced and selfish. by ontario_girl

I guess i'm trying to figure out why i've never had a "relationship" (i'm 45 & male). Surely, if the required motivations were present, i would have had one by now. But no, i haven't even had a "one-night" relationship. I presume i'm heterosexual, and interested in sex, as i've always looked at porn. I'm starting to suspect that mentally or... by theslowesthand

Anyone ever try to attract a friend with the law of attraction or the power of prayer? Perhaps a lover or best friend of the opposite sex? Who perhaps also has social anxiety (someone who can relate to you)? I have attracted a friend before and a couple potential girlfriends with the power of prayer. The problem I had with the... by kuurt

I had an idea. I don't know if it would work, but I thought I'd share it in case anybody wants to try it. I noticed there were videos on youtube where people just recorded the sounds of people talking at like bars, clubs, or restaurants. And if you could listen to them in the background while you're in the comfort of your own home, maybe they... by kuurt
