Hi guys, I wanted to ask, do you have trouble speaking loud enough? And if so, what keeps you from doing it? I used to feel like others were listening in on what I was saying, and I didn't really feel comfortable with that. So I kept my voice low so that others wouldn't hear. Can you relate? What are your troubles with speaking up? by JuanErenas

I feel like this is one of my biggest issues. Even in the event of an emergency, I feel like I would fail at being able to approach a stranger for help. It is almost like a double edge sword. I know it isn't a big deal and it is easy but when I go to do it, for anything really, I feel sick to my stomach. I don't even like talking to people in... by lilly354

Hi guys, I'm curious to know what your biggest issue is when you talk to people. Tell me what you constantly struggle with, and if you've gotten better, tell me what made you get better. I want to hear your story! - Juan by JuanErenas

I'm almost 19 years old and a few months ago it was my 4 year anniversary on this site. I'm still a little timid but at this point I think I might be pretty close to average. It's hard to recognize just how much I've improved when change has been so gradual, but recently I've been trying to think back about the times when I was at my worst. It's... by luiface

So, I've never bought condoms so I don't know if there is any social awkwardness buying them as there used to be many years ago. By awkwardness, it's the looks from the cashier etc and the general uncomfortableness that will be exacerbated by my anxiety even more. I've even looked at buying some from ebay but I think I'll have to buy in... by SilentAndShy

Hello All, So a long story short, I go through short periods where I've got all the confidence in the world, but more commonly I have little to no confidence, resulting in me feeling Shy and even to some extent Agoraphobic. Right now I'm struggling a lot to make new friends, meet women and even to a certain degree just talk to my close friends. I... by matthewpfc

I was thinking how my family manages me and my personality and thought rather than criticising me in public or sly jabs about me weaknesses in any aspect of my life. Rather than the aforementioned approach, I react well when someone puts an arm round me and provides support rather than admonishing me. That won't work for me. And for many years,... by SilentAndShy

Hi everyone, this is my first post here so maybe it's not in the right place, I was not sure where to post it. Anyway, moving on to my post.. All the time, it seems like people are intentionally avoiding eye contact with me, or ignore me. Can this be a sign that I'm ugly? I personally don't like my appearance so much, but no one has ever... by andropen

If you read any of my past posts I have been struggling with making friends in my class. I am ignored a lot by them and been having a real difficult time bonding with them. Well one of the girls in my class made reservations at a restaurant for the whole class. None of us have to go she just made a seat for everyone in case someone hadn't made up... by dannyboy65

Share your opinion and suggestion :) For me Gingo biloba and Tianeptine(Stablon) is really effective. Tianeptine also protective for brain from the negative side effect of stress as far I know. Verapamil also effective for palpitaion. by badhon

Doing a project on shyness (others and my own) and was hoping some of you shy individuals would be able to answer a few questions. 1. Why do you think you are shy? 2. How does shyness affect you? 3. Do you wish you were more confident? (would you change your entire personality?) 4. What social interactions do you fear most? 5. Are you both... by ellen123

Well I am in a resident care working course. It's where I look after people in hospitals, group homes, senior homes, and peoples houses who can't look after themselves completely. I love the course, and I love helping people. I used to be extremely introverted, but over the past year or so I've been becoming a good mix of extrovert and introvert. ... by dannyboy65

So at work, our office is on the first floor and there is a telcom system if people come to see us which is a rarity (thank God - before we were based in a busy town centre location which I'd suffered for two years) but my manager now says we can turn people away if they sound/or are disruptive or volatile. Now that's fine and well for people... by SilentAndShy

Well there is this girl that likes me. I'm interested in her but she is a heavy Christian where is I'm not religious. I don't really follow any religion I consider myself Agnostic. Well this girl told me that she would really like to date a Christian which I found ok. But then she started asking if I would try and become a Christian for her.... by dannyboy65

Well I'm seeing this girl and it's going great. We get a long and it's been a fun journey so far. I'm just a little anxious because she is pretty popular. For instance when we go out she usually runs into someone she knows. I'm really happy she has so many friends. It's just it makes me a little anxious because I'm not a very popular guy and don't... by dannyboy65

To work at building your self confidence, you must be able to understand the aspects that effect you in your life first. Once you know where the areas you struggle and want to work on; only then you can be able to improve on yourself. Maybe a lot of you guys already know that but, I'm here to help people but also to help myself and find ways to... by Cetnien

Hi! I used to be quite shy but I was lucky to get an opportunity to study abroad in Uni and even though I was worried about it I decided to take the leap of faith. I was the best thing that ever happened to me and frankly, life-changing. It took me awhile to overcome the shyness abroad but confession it to new friends actually helped a lot. ... by Traveller1

I am a 20 year old with autism. I was wondering if you were interested in them or if they were interested in you would you like them to tell you that they have autism. Like is it information you would like to know before you got serious with them. Just a question because I'm very open with my autism and I think it's only fair if I share that, so... by dannyboy65
