I haven't had one in 3 years when I was just beginning college. I haven't left the house all day and then I finally went out tonight. What happened was I was driving and my rental car was making a funny noise. I thought "I broke the car and I'm going to owe all this money" and then I thought, "the car is going to explode." My heart started... by LazyHermitCrab

For the past few days, in social environment when I've to face someone I find hard to face...or I feel scared of...just before that moment or even sometimes randomly; my heart beat speeds up, I can feel my heart pumping and beating as if its in my throat...I find it hard to breath and start shivering and shaking...Can't even stand properly! When I was in the 4th or 5th grade, after some distressing events, I woke up in the dead middle of the night, and could not breathe. I would inhale and inhale and could do nothing. We lived in a two story home at the time, and I remember crawling on the floor desperate to get help, I thought I was going to die. They all thought it was... by UnofficiallyMe

I've recently started taking Xanax and Wellbutrin for my panic/anxiety/depression, and it's helped decrease the number of panic attacks I've been having. Before I was on this combination of medications I'd have them multiple times a week, usually at night. Now I'm noticing a pattern though. When I'm alone for a little longer than a day I have the... by lauraa517

.... I am definitely getting there! I have FINALLY found a medication-free way to stop a panic attack before it takes hold. I haven't been able to eat - or even sit - in a cafe or restaurant for over 2 years unless I have taken enough beta blockers beforehand to steady my nerves and stop a full blown panic attack occuring. Until last night! I... by catrin87

Method 1.I have found that staring at any part of my body produces a great anti anxiety , calming effect. I stare at a small part of my knuckle is the easiest way to accomplish this, not the whole knuckle at once, but a specific small spot of skin on the knuckle. Four or five people with panic attacks confirmed that it worked for them to abort... by stevelord

Anyways, I'm on day two of this horrible panic attack and I was wondering how some of you deal? I got myself a dog to feel safer in my home a few months back. (Little white friendly cockapoo named Buddy that loves attention... figures) and when I'm alone and start suffering from my panic attacks, he will not leave my side. He is contantly... by jd882

Hi everyone. Just a week a ago, I found out that a guy that I have had strong feelings for has social anxiety disorder. I've been doing a lot of reading up the last few days. Before I start talking about the main issue, I'd just like to say to every single person who has SAD, I'm so very terribly sorry for you'll, it hurts me a lot to know such an... by Cleo_91

Some background on me: I've had anxiety disorders since at least age 12, including social anxiety disorder since that age. I haven't been to a psychologist or psychiatrist since I was 19. I'm 32 now. From 2000-early 2012 I didn't have any severe problems with anxiety, just avoidance of most social situations/interaction, which I could deal with.... by meco1999

I'm pretty sure I've written on here before about how lack of sleep makes my anxiety worse. I'm not sure why it does, but it does. It's like it makes my emotions more intense. I've been up for 33 hours. I couldn't sleep the other night and then I had to stay awake to go to a therapy session. After I got home I tried sleeping and couldn't. And I've... by NickyNacker

About a month or so ago I suffered from a very severe panic attack and my fiancee rushed me to the ER where I had my vitals checked twice and sent home with a $2000 bill. Since then I've had a few minor attacks but they've taken a turn for the worse over the last few days. It started with a toothache that kept be from sleeping a Friday night.... by Misstea

I was in a store late last night (less people), and all of a sudden I got dizzy, I felt sick to my stomach, and my heart was pounding so hard that I thought I was surely having a heart attack which prompted a panic attack on top of a panic attack. If that’s possible…who knows, but it felt like that. I abandoned ship and left the store. :( ... by cowboyup

I don't know what it si but I get panic attacks when I'm all alone in a big area. it doesn't even have to be big, it could be a 2x4 space and I'd get a panic attack. I always need someone next to me. But anyway whenever I'm home I always feel like crying. Does anyone else? by darkrider

Does anyone else experience horrible anger attacks? Sometimes when something repeatedly goes wrong on the computer, I just completely flip out, curse, shout, punch pillows. Not in front of people though. It frightens me and I fear that one day I will flip in front of people. by gustavofring

Does anyone else ever have this kind of panic attack: It's like I lose my internal voice and my ability to communicate with myself. I end up in absolute terror and feeling completely isolated and alone, unable to form words in my head or have any kind of internal thought or dialouge. I feel like I'm going completely insane, and sometimes think... by Jack215
