Do you know of any triggers that seem to cause panic attacks for you a lot? One of my main ones is health related. If I feel a new pain or strange sensation in my body, it will almost always cause me to have a panic attack. I start thinking the worst. I have fear of tooth issues because I don't have dental insurance so anything related to my... by lilly354

I want to immediately contradict the title by saying that, when scary things happen, I still panic like everyone else. I just don't have random, spontaneous panic attacks for no reason anymore. Everyone's story is different, but here's mine: I developed panic attacks at the age of 23, and they were sporadic. I still remember the first one I... by HexNoir

The last couple mornings I have been waking up in a blind panic due to extremely vivid nightmares. I'm drenched in sweat, I can't breath and for the first few seconds I don't know where I am. I've been going to bed later every night for the past week because my dreams have been getting progressively worse. It's getting to the point where I dread... by kaycee09

I never had issues with watching shows or movies when I was younger, but in the last few years, I can barely watch anything on the television without having a full blown panic attack. I can only watch children's movies (after reading everything I possibly can to already know what is happening), movies/shows that I am already familiar with and know... by Queen_Regnant

Hi, I suffer from OCD for the past 10 year. It was manageable with the help of medicines. Last month I happened to read a news that USA and Russia may got to war on Ukraine. Instantly I got panicked because of the thought of Nuclear world war between NATO and Russia. This is creating havoc in my mind with severe chills thoughts of my family and... by jigjan

Hi, So whenever I try and talk to a guy that I'm strongly attracted to, I panic. Seriously, I end up shaking so badly that I can barely talk, let alone carry a coherent conversation. It's really embarrassing- which obviously doesn't help the panicking. Is there anything I can do to stop this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. by Sarah_45

A couple days ago I experienced something what seemed like a panic attack. I was at school helping out in a lower year class when I was standing up at the back of the classroom my whole body started feeling heavy, I broke out in sweat and felt exceptionally dizzy. This is when my vision started getting blurry and eventually it went black. I felt... by Luka

I would like to recommend a CD that I purchased on Amazon by Sharon Shinwell called Overcome Anxiety and Panic Attacks. I was sceptical at first but after reading the reviews, I took the plunge. I can honestly say that after a couple of weeks, I feel so much better. I still feel anxious at times but I haven't has a full blown attack still I... by Bex390

I'm really feeling bad at the moment. For the past week I've had an intense fear of choking on food which means I've been chewing food hundreds of times so I can swallow it. I dread eating each day and feel relieved that I've got it out of the way. But then I realise that I've got to eat the next day, and the day after that...basically for the... by jimmy75

Do you find that there are certain people whose manner puts you into panic mode--but there are just as many people (if not more) who you can "handle", no matter what comes up? I worked in an unpaid internship last fall term six hours a week at a clinic. It was a very important stepping stone for me--and I loved working with the patients. ... by chatterbox71

I'm going to my boyfriend's for Thanksgiving. I'm usually pretty okay and calm over there, as long as I'm not already stressed, and there aren't too many people. He said there won't be. Of course, that can all change. About a month ago, I had a dream that I had a panic attack on Thanksgiving. I forgot about it for awhile, but now that Thanksgiving... by Draconess25

I guess I've had a lot to worry about lately and I've been dealing with some depression but I can't say I've experienced panic attacks before, this is totally new for me. I've had some minor health issues and I've slowly been recovering, but every time I start feeling a possible symptom or discomfort....I just freak the hell out and think... by paperie

Cured is in quotes because panic attacks are never really cured - but if you learn to worsen their affects, the impact on your normal-extreme activities to have a panic attack are of no problem. Please know this, I write this for the hope that someone reads it and finds their “cure”. At the age of 25 I was diagnosed with severe agoraphobia... by sunwindandfire
