Hi, I had a refresher lesson today after a long spell (2013) not driving for various reasons (anxiety, lacking confidence) and one of my areas to improve on is bigger roundabouts. I get a tad nervous and find waiting, going for the right gap, then changing gears, turning the wheel to go round is when the car stutters and it's not fluent. ... by SilentAndShy

Hi there. My name is Sing and I am currently a MSc student at Regentís University London. I am interested in understanding more about the levels of social anxiety in people with disordered eating as it's something I have struggled with myself. This is to hopefully gain additional knowledge in the behaviours and feelings of people with eating... by sing

For instance, I'd probably compare myself to a cat since cats are known for their secretive, quiet personalities. I think I'm like a cat because I do keep things to myself, hide in my room and walk pace back and forth like a cat, and I don't even come out of my room for a long time until I feel like that. So in some aspects, I do consider myself... by FriendlyShadow

Now, my history with driving a car has been a very traumatic experience from 16 years of age. I won't go into full detail however I passed in 2009 and at that time, I didn't have funds to buy a car. In 2012, I did and I bought a car which proved a costly experience as I had embarrassing moments (hitting my car on the driveway wall with some... by SilentAndShy

Hi all, I'm interested to know where the highest concentration of people with SA is? There seem to be very few people from my area which is really frustrating. I understand that a lot of people with SA just haven't discovered sites like this one, but they're still out there. Has anyone found a more useful means of finding fellow SA sufferers in a... by Ashitaka

My relationship with driving is deep rooted to an incident when I was 16 when I started a car too quickly and grazed the house wall which has never really left me. Few starts to learning to drive here and there, stopping then found a good instructor then passed in 2009. Had no money, so couldn't buy a car then but did in 2012 but the car I got... by SilentAndShy

Well, this may be a long thread to post, but I've been doing a lot of thinking lately... I feel as if I'm dumber than the average human. In fact, thanks to my clumsiness and social awkwardness I was cursed with, I'm beginning to realize these are the main factors that drive people away. At first, they may find it cute I guess or they are willing... by FriendlyShadow

I'm writing this as I've suffered another setback in life - due to my own personal weaknesses and social phobia - and I'm back to square one. Today I left my job (working in a call centre) because I've had time off for depression, and my phobia has rendered me useless and lazy to try and rectify the situation. I had another day off today, due... by SilentAndShy
