Hobbit 5/10 (I was a big fan of the LOTR films, but I think Jackson dropped the ball here. )

Life of Pi 9/10 (Gorgeous film, beautiful message, just a great work of art. Tiger is best CGI ever.)

The Eclipse. 9 out of 10.

It's a movie about ghosts, but they're more of an afterthought. It's a deliberate, lovely movie about a widower who becomes involved with a writer of ghost stories. All the main characters in the film are three dimensional. There are no twists. Just good storytelling involving well-written characters.

By the way, the lead character - Ciarán Hinds - will be playing Mance Rayder in Game of Thrones. :) I'm looking forward to seeing him even MORE after watching his performance in this.

Just saw Prometheus for the first time.
I'd heard a lot of negative reviews about it, but I quite liked it. Admittedly, there was a little too much CGI for my liking (especially since the set from "Alien" was all handmade and what you saw was real) but I liked how they still kept the mystery of the Alien series. Plus, Noomi Rapace is awesome!

The Dark Knight Returns, part one - 9/10...

True to the comic so it couldn't go wrong really! And it had Peter Weller as Batman. :D

It's an animated film.

Watched the Hobbit. I think I went in with too many expectations, felt like it was missing something.. it was good but not as good as I anticipated. Looking forward to the next installment though, haha.
I think I'd give the Hobbit 7.5/10.

^ love it! nothing like a delicious psycho-bitch movie. honestly, though, that movie had good music.

Snow White and the Huntsman 6/10
The good: the special effects and Charlize Theron. The bad: just about everything else.

Les Misérables 8.5/10
So, so long, but good. I had some reservations about some of the cast, but was pleasantly surprised by most of them. I'll spoiler this just in case, but it's not really a spoiler. The definite highlight of the movie was Anne Hathaway singing "I Dreamed A Dream." Oh boy. "Now life has killed the dream I dreamed" is one of those lyrics that makes my heart catch in my throat and she damn near killed me with it.

Plus, Noomi Rapace is awesome!

I know, right?!

Went to see Parental Guidance today. Love Billy Crystal and Bette Midler! Also has Marisa Tomei and some other guy who looks like that dude from the United Mileage Plus commercials - lol! It was your typical "feel good" movie - nothing too heavy to make you cry. Cute kids too. I'd give it a 7/10, mostly because Billy Crystal always makes me laugh! :)

The Hobbit
I give it a 10/10 only because I tend to read the book first then watch the movie which leads to me critiquing what they left out of the movie but since it has been many, many years since I read The Hobbit and I can't remember much anymore, lol; I give it a 10.

wow, what an explanation...oops!

I just finished reading it for the first time a week before i seen it so now i am disappointed to have to wait so long to see the end.
did you see it in high frame rate 48fps? It was very strange i'm still not sure what i think of the technology i was blown away by it at times but hated it in some scenes.

^yes I did and I had read some blogs that some people were getting sick so I took a Dramamine before I went, I cheated! lol
I agree, some scenes were a little too much but at the same time takes your breath away. Incredible technology :)
