the hobbit - 9/10
would have been a 10, but i didnt like how they added in so much about Radagast the Brown. and im worried they might leave out Beorn, who was a pretty cool character.

not actually Fiona Apple
I've been watching a bunch of movies lately, I don't know why but I have ::p: Trying to remember all those ones that looked good and always wanted to see, actually reading through this thread looking for good ones!

Saving Private Ryan - 9.5/10
Honestly I am not a huge fan of war movies, but I am sucker for a really well made one. And this one was really well made, wowzer. It was three hours long and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

American Psycho - 7/10
It was...interesting to say the least. It confused me a lot though, and I do not like to be confused so that deducted a point or two ::p: Other than that though, for what it was it was good.

American Beauty - 9.75/10
While the name sounded familar, I didn't know what it was about at all before starting it. (Once I did I recognized a few scenes from links). But I love not knowing what a movie is about, and then watching it to find out it's really good. I'm glad I decided to watch this one.

I was excited about SKYFALL but it was disappointing

It starts well, but after ~ 20% of full-on action, the following 80% is dismal, slow and boring, with such an amazing history of it's genre

Maybe it needs a re-watch

^ Yes! I love that movie! :D I loved the fact I had the same awesome history teacher for fours years in high school. Every year he'd show us a movie based on what we were studying and one year he showed us this. I love war movies, but this one is by far one of the best I've seen.

The Hobbit

6/10

It was okay. It definitely wasn't bad, but I wouldn't call it a particularly good movie either. It had some good aspects and some bad aspects. Some scenes were really good, and some scenes were not very good at all. Taken as a whole, I think it was just okay. I love Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies, but The Hobbit just seems sloppy by comparison. It's worth seeing at least once, but don't be surprised if you are underwhelmed. I have read The Hobbit before, but that is the only Tolkien book I have read, so I only consider myself a very casual Tolkien fan; however, my brother, who is a huge Tolkien fan, was disappointed with The Hobbit movie too.

Just finished Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. I don't even know how to rate it because it was so confusing. Or maybe I'm just really bad at following involved plots. It was good, but it was long and convoluted, and at some points I couldn't tell if I was watching a flashback or something that was supposed to be in the present tense. And it seemed to leave some things unanswered.

Favorite line: "You Calvinistic, penny-pinching Scot! It'll take us five hours to get drunk on this monkey's piss!" XD

I've been on somewhat of a movie binge the last couple of days. Submarine was wonderful and fabulous. It's about a young lad who finds himself dealing with the struggles of romance. He meets a charming young gal, juggling their relationship with trying to help his parents fix their struggling marriage. Dramatic and funny. Loved the ride and was disappointed when it was over.

A Christmas Story 9/10
I've seen this 500,000,000 times, but I haven't watched it for a couple of Christmases. It's not just a great Christmas movie, but a great movie in general.

Zombieland 8.5/10
My dad and sister talk about this movie all the time. I guess they watched it without me one day. We bought the DVD for my dad and watched it today. Very funny and sweet. And now I know what my sister is talking about when we watch The Walking Dead and she says, "Rule #2: Double tap."

Red Riding Hood (2011), 7/10

Not mind-blowing, but it wasn't predictable, the special effects were fine, and it kept me interested the whole time.

Cloud Atlas: 8/10

I wasn't sure what it was about at first but after watching the movie I loved it. It was like 6 completely different movies in one movie, all of them were great on their own and they are all connected to each other.

Pirates Of Silicon Valley: 6.5/10 stars

Pretty good movie. Steve Jobs could be a jerk. It's amazing how small they were before they got big.

Bond of Silence: 7/10 stars

I'll avoid much talk because it would be a spoiler alert. I thought it was a good movie. I liked the acting for the most part.

A Lonely Place to Die: 6/10 stars

Pretty crazy plot. Very violent movie. I liked what they did with it.

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, 9.5/10 stars

Ya'll know the name, haha. Kevin McCalister is at it again. Oh, I've seen this movie over 5 times by now.

It's one of the most underrated movies of all time. It's about as good as the first.

The part where they try to enter the house are just classic scenes. Pesci and Stern are just too good together.

The Siege: 6.5/10 stars

A Denzel Washington movie that I haven't seen until now. It had to do with what could happen in NYC if there was an even bigger deal with the fear of terrorist attacks from people of Middle Eastern descent. Annette Benning co-stars.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011)

I guess this is a movie that one should think is good and it's gotten lots of raving reviews but to be totally honest to myself I didn't really enjoy this film. I found it too slow and hard to follow.
