That's really great-you should post some of your KB faves too. I have had Egypt on replay for days now it gets stuck in my head like that I cannot imagine how fun that would be to attend one of the shows! I am watching interviews and people are really saying incredible things about seeing her live after so long-amazing. I am so jealous.

Dottie, I'm the one who agreed to give Opal that FSM title. I did it without knowledge or discussion of the other mods, and I doubt they were even aware. The FSM was invented to point out a flaw in a particular argument used in a court case in Kansas by proponents of 'Intelligent Design'. It was invented to mock that argument, not to mock any group of people.

Since then the FSM as a symbol has grown in popularity and come to mean different things to different people, with freedom from religion being one of those meanings. Given my knowledge of Opaline, that was the meaning I thought she had in mind. I agreed to remove it for the sake of reducing controversy and conflict.

No mod has ever required you to take down the symbol of your own beliefs, and to my knowledge to poster has ever attacked or insulted you for what you believe. If they did, they would be dealt with.

I'm an ex-Christian and I greatly dislike the Abrahamic religions in particular. Everyone is free to believe what they want, of course, but I'm also free to dislike what they believe. If faith helps someone in some way, great I suppose, but I don't exactly find it wonderful...
