I'm at least trying to eat, despite not ever feeling hungry, but it is increasingly difficult task.. We have no real food in the house, just tiny bits of this and that. If they shut down, they shut down. As long as some food goes in, I'm sure it is somewhat good for me, rather than just not eating at all. I tried to get food stamps, but I have no idea how, their site really sucks.

Can you try to get hold of a social worker to help you? Or a church?

You cannot go on like this. You need food to have energy to do things.

Oh okay. That's good you're trying to get some food in. That really is unfortunate. You can't go to a free shelter where they pass out hot meals or something? I just hope you find a solution.

I currently live in a VERY rural area with a declining population, there isn't much help going around here.

With all the issues in my life, food isn't as much a problem but it is kinda irritating. Energy to do what? I can't get a job due to military caused medical issues, the Army is screwing me over on that and I basically have nothing to do.. No money to have a hobby with or do anything.. Life really doesn't seem all that important to me right now and so I don't think I need energy. I'm going to be entirely honest with the DoD counselor and tell them right out that I do have thoughts of harming myself and a select few others. Who knows, maybe I'm just three fries short of a happy meal?

You live in a very rural place, I see now
That's good that you're considering being honest.
You're not fries short, anyone in that situation would suffer.

I'm wondering why the army is not doing anything about it, I think that's upsetting. Have you asked them for foods? People who are more fortunate around you should at least prepare something for their neighbors who have less. No one has to give money or take care of someone, but what's wrong with sharing food? Maybe I just come from another culture. I don't see why the Army can not at least do that. No one should ever starve in a place where people indulge in food so much.

My point remains that they (The Army) and nobody else around here seems to care. Why should they give me food? They punished me for coming to drill without a haircut despite pleading my case that I simply didn't have the monetary means to get one. I want to leave this area so bad, but have no place to go.. If we can't keep this crappy house, then I'm going to end up living in my car (Anyone know a good place to park and sleep?)

I <3 the Olympics! What's not to like about hot swim Gods in Speedos! :D
I look like someone who's more of a shotputter!

I fly out tomorrow night.

It's not that I don't like the buzz of the games themselves I'm just fed up of all the other rubbish that comes with the preparation...train timetable changes etc. That ugly logo everywhere.

Mind you. Does make buying souvenirs for foreigners a bit more easy.
Ooh, how exciting!

Yeah, that's right. I think the trains and such were all changed here, too. Hopefully it doesn't disadvantage you too much.

Posting in the Post your Voice thread has been on my mind, lately. Mainly thinking about what Phoenixx said - you know, not to think about it? And, since I've become comfortable writing in my Scottish accent on here, recently (as WeirdyMcGee pointed out). I think that mainly due to watch alot of Billy Connolly's stand-up comedy shows and being very aware of his casual use Scots slang language - amoungst other profane language :D - regardless of the audience he's in front of (whether he's doing a show in America, Australia, New Zealand etc).

And, given the above mentioned example of Billy Connolly, I'm slightly weary of posting my voice on here, for that reason. Silly, I know (I'm not scared or owt, just a bit self-conscious). Since Scots slang is so advanced, it's basically another language. And I'd just like to be sure no-one here would have a problem with any of that (that includes swearing)? And there wouldn't be any restrict on time, would there? Because I'm seriously considering doing it off-the-cuff when I post my voice.

Shame we don't know how to take advantage of the beautiful things that come in our lives. We take everything too seriously, we complicate things uselessly, we force our luck, thinking that we'll be just as young even after 50 years. Life is too short for that, live it now, fix it when you screw things up and fight for your happiness.

Nobody is perfect, but in the eyes of someone else, you can be just that, when there are real feelings.

God, the weather has been so nasty these past couple of days. The rain and storms are such a relief. I really hope that the humidity goes away soon.

I never realized that building a simple shelf system for my kitchen would be so much work. The satisfaction of seeing the finished product better darn well be worth eating up both of my days off this week. Grrr.
