Does anyone dislike the Summer?

I really don't like it at all. I hate the fact that as soon as the sun comes out there seem to be hundreds of people everywhere. I also hate having to wear clothes that show off my body because of the heat. I much prefer the winter because you can hide under a coat and umbrella and there aren't as many people around.

I think there is another thread about this somewhere, and if I can remember, you are not the only one here at all who dislikes summer.

I used to dislike summer as well, pretty much for the same reason as you, and because the sunny days were such a painful contrast with my mood. But I was very depressed at the time, and now that I got rid of that, I love summer for many, many reasons. As a matter of fact I love all seasons now.

Over here where I live, it could get pretty scorching in the summer. You're right about the clothes too. I wear a lot of baggy clothes because I don't have the confidence to flaunt my body. Plus I already get comments such as "sl.ut" being thrown at me so why bother? Plus, I sweat a lot in the summer with sweat stains sometimes showing through my clothes so I have to wear a sweater to cover up which only makes me hotter.

I don't like it because it's pretty hot everywhere and all my friends want to go get burned at the beach. I do like having sunny days though.

The heat and humidity makes it difficult to sleep. And long runs are very energy sapping.

I think it's ok. I don't like the heat. I do like though that there is sunlight for more hours compared to winter, so I'm motivated to do more stuff.

I like summer because the sun makes me happier, there are more colors outside, it's not cold but not too hot either, etc. But I dislike the need to wear less clothes sometimes, the insects, drinks stopping being cold, etc. Overall, I mostly like summer.

Come spend a month down here. I promise you'll learn to hate summer all over again!

^I admit that as much as I like to travel in tropical countries, after a couple of weeks I always end up missing that cool breeze from north atlantic we have up here coming up the river. That being said, if you're inviting me for a month long kayaking adventure in the gulf of mexico, you know I'm in :D

Do I like blood-sucking skeeters and gnats and flies buzzing around my BBQ? I'm good. I hate it when every time I walk through the woods I get covered in ticks, like hundreds of them, crawling all over me? Screw that! Do I like thunderstorms that pop up out of nowhere? Nope. How about sweating so much that my shirt is soaked in a couple of hours? That's a big negative, ghostrider! Am I ready for full on summer? Bring it on. I'm sick of wearing a jacket. I'm ready to be wearing my T shirts with the sleeves ripped off again.

One of the only good things about summer are the hot nights and their effect on windows.

You can go for long drives with them rolled-down, and you can push the house variety of them up, and listen to the crickets when you're falling asleep.

But outside of that, the normal-friendly temperatures, humidity, and risk of sunburn are collective doo doo.

Seriously?

Ooh, me, too! It's not nice.

I don't mind summer, but it can get a bit draining. Summer in Australia can get very hot on bad days, and the humidity gets really high, making everything sticky. However, summer is not all bad: more people out, longer days to do stuff, and not to mention the girls wear less. ;)

Winters in Australia are very mild in comparison to North America and Europe, but I like those cooler months, too, because it's easier to sleep and I can step outside and not get smashed by heat.

All seasons have their ups and downs, but no doubt that summer is the most...uncomfortable, I suppose.

I went through that same experience! Except I like fall the most, but I've found different reasons to enjoy each season now.

Going for walks during warm nights are great too (if you're lucky to live in a safe city of course).
