I think I may be the only person who finds this short film unbearably sappy rather than uplifting and in inspirational. I've seen it before but it was brought to my attention again today and I watched it again, still finding it obnoxious.

Saturday I'm going to start cleaning and decluttering my room. I'm also reorganizing it according to Feng Shui. Not that I believe that "doing X will bring you good fortune", but because I find that a lot of the things in Feng Shui actually have a psychological impact on you. I'll use today and tomorrow to get myself the proper equipment.

I usually have dinner with my father on Thursdays, but since my sister is here this month she has been coming along as well. Apparently they already decided between the two of them to watch a movie tonight (and they even chose the movie) without telling me anything. They didn't ask if I wanted to watch a movie or if I wanted to watch that one in particular. In fact, I only know we're watching a movie because my sister texted me saying the dinner was earlier so we wouldn't be late to the cinema.

We're watching "The Wolf of Wall Street". I don't know if it's because they want to see it or because I have a degree in economics and I don't know what to do for a career and maybe they thought this movie could shed some lights on that. If that's the case, the title itself already tells me it's not something I want to be doing. I never liked the financial market and I've made that clear several times. No matter their reason, I still don't want to watch the movie. After watching the trailer, I can clearly say this is not my type of movie; and I'm certain that when the movie is over I'll be asked all sort of awkward questions related to the more sexual contents of the movie because hey, I have a degree in economics so technically that's going to be my job (pretty sure this is their reasoning).

^I saw the trailer for this movie - not interested! Of course, you don't have to go into banking as a career. At least you know what you DON'T want to do.

There's this stereotype that bankers on Wall Street make lots of money and gets loads of ladies. You can thank Enron and other corruption scandals for this.

Actually, you can probably thank deregulation and Ronald Reagan for that. The predatory psychotic cokeheads weren't a huge issue until they stopped caring about what wall street was doing-- coincidentally it was around the same time that the corporations got really huge and basically took over the world.

Everything happened as I expected: both the unnecessary comments and the content of the movie. At least it was a bit funny at some parts.

Deregulation is to blame for corruption? As far as I can tell the bigger the government the more opportunity they have for corrupt behavior. You wouldn't give a lot of power to people that you don't trust, and you wouldn't trust the kind of people that end up in office.

Deregulation isn't helping corporations as much as subsidies and favoritism is.

I've had this argument enough times to know it's not worth my time. But yes, subsidies and favoritism aren't good things either.

My longtime online friend disabled his Facebook after finding out his mother has cancer. I haven't seen him on Skype and I sent him an email, but got no response (even though he told me to contact him in those places). I'm worried and I'm sad and feel bad for him, and now I have no way to talk to him. I hope he and his mom are okay and I hope he turns up again soon...

I am not wrong. I am not wrong. I can't be wrong. Am I wrong. I am not wrong. I feel like life is a constant struggle. Constantly having to check if my thoughts make sense. Making sure they make sense. Though what if my thoughts only make sense to me. I feel so confused.

Is there a place like Coursera or EdX but for high school stuff? I was forced to have a predefined set of courses in high school which didn't allow me to learn stuff like biology or chemistry. Instead, I had to learn stuff like Geography which wasn't something I was interested in. When I go on Coursera or EdX, the "Intro to biology" courses all require a background in high school level biology.

I'm grumpy again today. Really need to get motivated and get things done.
I know, I'll go out and treat myself to some good things and that will at least get me out of the house: maybe a soda and a candy bar, a dinner out, a quick visit to the bookstore....I feel better already. :)
