Last year, I gave my closest friend to her birthday a coupon, for an auction (a real live one, not on the internet) at the local airport, where they sell all stuff people lost there last year, including cases full with their original contents without people knowing whats in them.

That was lots of fun, so we're going there this year again, which is tomorrow. And half a dozen friends will join us. ^^ We'll take the subway to the airport, get some good places and register, have breakfast at the airport and then see how the auction goes.

And later, tomorrow, I'll go to another friend, who'll cook some traditional german food and we'll play the Battlestar Galactica boardgame. ^^

Okay. I was wondering what other people's opinions on this would be.

Two days ago I had a sore throat but it went away by the next day. I developed a mild but persistent cough that's still with me. I didn't have much of an appetite so I ate very little for two days (but I didn't forego food completely). I only had 3 hours of sleep yesterday so naturally I was exhausted. I figured the lack of food and sleep was taking a number on me, so I hoped that a full night's sleep and good breakfast the next day would pick me up.

Not so. I've eaten plenty today and I got enough sleep and yet I am still absolutely drained. I took my temperature and I don't have a fever.

Could I have a mild flu? A cold? Or might it just be the lack of food did so much damage to my blood sugar that I still haven't recovered? I've also been VERY thirsty, regardless of how much liquid I drink.

Just wondering what's up. Can't go to a doctor and probably wouldn't bother anyway for something like this. Appreciate anyone's thoughts. I know none of you are doctors but what the hell, just figured I'd ask.

^ Eating little for two days, then not getting enough sleep, all the whilst your body was coming down with something, I think it might take a little bit more than just a good single night's sleep and a regular eating day. I say be patient and give it another day with good sleep and good foods to see how you feel. Depending on your body, it might take a little more for it to get back to feeling normal again. Also, certain foods don't help colds or a run down body either (refined sugars, lots of preservatives, junk mostly -- pretty obvious).

Whatever you came down with I think is going around too. My mom seemed to catch something similar on our way back from Chicago. Today she's sick with a fever, scratchy throat, and she's drinking a ton of fluids because she's so thirsty. I didn't seem to catch it and fingers crossed that I don't either.

That sounds like dracunculiasis, possibly complicated with trimethylaminuria. I'm sorry.

I agree with Phoenixx, you probably just need another day or two of rest and good food to recover. You could also be dehydrated. Try drinking something with electrolytes, like gatorade or similar sports drink. Plain water would be the next best thing to drink, just make sure you drink a lot of it!

Did something happen to the recent "What is the difference between good and bad" thread? I hope it was not deleted because a certain person made critical comments about the thread itself. That particular person has a history of this sort of thing.

It could be fatigue Graeme. I sleep a lot too, sometimes living with anxiety saps all the energy out of me. I can't do anything, not because I am lazy, but because I am so tired.

Canada and Russia are fighting over the Arctic because global warming has made it possible to get to more gas and oil, which in turn will be used to create more global warming.

What really makes me roll my eyes is that some people seriously think that they're actually going to see any part of the profits from these enterprises, just because they have the same passport.

Nationalism must be the easiest possible way to manipulate people.

If it is Dracunculiasis, then you absolutely should see a doctor, or the emergency ward of a hospital if you are unable to go to a doctor.

Absolutely.. without it, there would be no wars, or not nearly so many (i think none is an exaggeration as Native American tribes for example still fought brutal battles amongst themselves)..I suppose the human race will always find reasons to fight and fuk up the planet, regardless. That's what makes us so great!! More people I say. ha

I've heard that some of the oldest human skeletons found had spear heads stuck in their rib cages. A point to ponder...

Oh, I am aware our brutality goes waaay back :) And I know people will argue We humans are this intelligent species till the cows come home but we are what, 98% chimpanzee DNA?! The apple don't fall far from the monkey tree. We just have religion, money and greed separating us from our primate brethren (for lack of a better word LoL) . Also they are much better on the environment for sure. So who is the superior species?

Not humans.
