I do not intend to offend anyone here, so I'm sorry if I do, but I was just thinking about how ridiculous it sounds when someone says they can't cook. I met an ophthalmic surgeon the other day who jokingly said, "I can't cook but I know how to operate on an eyeball!" or something like that, haha. I honestly think it's just laziness (or an understandable lack of time in our hectic lives). Cooking is not an inborn skill, it's something that must be LEARNED by everyone, so if you take the time to learn it you WILL and you will be able to say you can cook.
You don't have to be a culinary master, but I think everyone should know how to cook. Food is of the utmost importance to us, so why wouldn't you take the time to learn how to prepare the healthiest meals you can instead of getting frozen, boxed, or canned convenience food? When someone says they can't cook to save their life... all I hear is laziness and a disregard for their own health. It's a basic skill that, in my opinion, is as necessary as learning to tie your shoes or drive - perhaps even more necessary.
