My iPod is getting more senile everyday it seems. There's this new thing it's doing now with this one specific song (that I may or may not have downloaded from youtube) in which if I pause it at a later part of the song and then starting playing it again a little later it will start playing from about half way through the first verse but continue from the time it was paused. Then with three seconds left it will realize something is wrong and just pause itself and not play again until I restart or skip the song. Poor iPod, it seems like it was just 7 years ago we first met.

I had a trouble with my iTouch. It would skip songs, repeat songs mid-way through. Or speedily play though songs with static but not increase the pitch of the vocals or instruments. Almost threw me off an early morning balancing act at the lake.

Turns out it was the headphones. Replaced them with non-a-like iTouch/iPod headphones (sony bass headphones I bought) all is okay. Thinking either the headphone jack and/or iTouch/iPod headphones were the trouble.

jogging at 1am on christmas eve is awkward. There are tons of people out on their decks and driveways, they just stare when you go by o_o

My mom got my brother one of those mini cheap ping-pong guns as a joke. He loves the thing and has been shooting me with it (including the cat) nearly all morning, and yes it kinda hurts. >.< Did I mention he's 19?

Sooo another family meeting (with other relatives) I'm still amazed at everyone's reactions at my new looks and I don't really like all the attention >.>
After being called John Entwistle (The Who's former bassist)

I've been also told I look like Dani "El pescao" Otero (Spanish singer and guitarrist)

but with Beatle hair

I still have no clue what it means, if it's good or bad (maybe those who saw my pic could imagine :/) but apparently that and the fact that with exercise I did this year I'm in better shape, I look more like a man and less like a kid... or so they say >.>

Anyway for all the look-alikes I can conclude that, no matter if I look acceptable or even worse than usual, I rock

Anyway, we drank wine, whiskey, champagne, more wine and more whiskey and then played poker (typical Christmas)... I'm tired :p

That's a good comparison, mate. I haven't seen your photo but from that description you seem quite handsome!

^^Now I have a mental image of you MrJones, and I must say your beard is awesome :D

Ah headphones, I once had a problem with them. All my songs were coming in too quietly, and it sounded like may of the instruments and other sounds were missing from the songs. I looked down and it turned out my headphones were only plugged in partially. If only the problem was that simple this time, but all these glitches occur over many listening devices, including one that does not use the jack. They're not so bad though, imperfection gives my Ipod some character, which everyone wants from their iPod:rolleyes:

I don't like for some things to end.

I think you need to belt out to some Semisonic.

Semisonic - Closing Time - YouTube

The line you are looking for is at 1:54. Unless you are looking for some less cliche lyrics about change, then I am at a loss.

Does any one else think that optimism is just as delusional as pessimism?

Why is it OK to be an optimist but NOT OK to be a pessimist? Why is it that one rule applies to one end of the spectrum but not the other?

If anyone has any answers I would appreciate it.

I'm pretty sure the logic is that being optimistic makes you happier than being pessimistic. Pessimism by definition is having a negative outlook on the life and the world. This also is symptom of depression, you know the big three: having a negative outlook at yourself, the world, and the future.

I don't disagree, Optimism can be as delusional as pessimism, some studies show that it is more delusional actually, but it makes you happier and that is why it is OK.

Yeah... I guess. Thats a pretty reasonable explanation. It kind of bugs me though, I mean... why delude yourself into being happy when you are not? Isnt that just...phony? Isnt it better to be true to your own feelings rather than just putting on a show to be a positive person simply because its apparently more socially acceptable to be happy..?

Hi how are you? "I am absoloutely wonderful thank you, life is fantabulous... rainbows and unicorns and fluffy bunnies...yaaay"... yeah..right.

*sorry.. in complaining mode. Rant over...peace.

There's a difference between being optimistic and acting positive I believe. You know the glass example of course, and whether or not you think it's half-full or empty shows if you're optimistic or pessimistic (it's not black and white, but gives you an idea).

Then there's positively, when maybe after thinking the glass is half empty trying to change the thought. "No, think positive. The glass is half full!" This is what is bugging you I bargain? Honestly I'm not sure if this is good to do. A goal for a lot of people in life is too be happy, and as I said before being optimistic gets you that. If you are more pessimistic about things you have to force your thinking patterns to change. If it is fake though, maybe it's not worth it? Does authentic sadness help more in the long run then phoney happiness? I don't know

I interpret optimism simply as seeing the good in every situation. Pessimism is only seeing the bad. Realism would be taking both the good and the bad into account equally.
I tend to be an optimistic realist. :)

^^^ Yeah, I mean, far be it from me to rain on any ones parade... if thats what gets people through life then so be it, its certainly not hurting anyone for sure, and lets face it happiness can be elusive... so from the perspective I understand the reasons for optimism... For me though, it irks me a little when people say you can just "choose" to be happy.... and why if you feel sad a lot of the time... or are a pessimist, there is negative stigma attached to it - when there isnt one attached to optimism.

I guess maybe I am little cynical. Middle of the road is better for me. Realist/Pessimist is probably what I am. I am still a nice person, capable of feeling joy despite that so its all good. :)

~ this is interesting to me.

Thank you both for your answers

Man... I hate when a lot of girls put on this "nice and sweet" persona and talk in this annoying stripper-baby kind of voice. I see so many broads in my age group who do that, and it drives me up the wall. Sometimes I find myself taking on that persona so I don't come off as rude. I'm not "nice and sweet," though, and I don't have a very "girly" voice. I'm at the point where I would rather talk in my no-nonsense, deeper voice and be my cynical, superficial @$$hole self.
