When do you actually feel happy?

I feel happy only when Playing Team Fortress 2, going for jogging in the beach and preparing a nice cup of hot green tea. I forgot how it is to be happy. Once upon a time I was happy, or at least there were lots of happy moments to remember ...

1.Lying in my safe, warm home watching a movie under a blanket, after taking a strong pain killer.
2.*Going on an adventure by myself, like a bike ride or to the beach on holiday, and returning home after an adventure and doing number 1.
3.Creating music.

They are the big ones that spring to mind.

*Subject to motivation and courage to leave the house of course.

daydreaming about intimacy from a girl i love.... then realizing... that its a fantasy.. a false truth.. its nothing but unrealistic wish thinking... the intimacy suddenly feels like a weakness.. i get more attached to the girl, a girl that already have someone else (like all the others). i realize... that i dont actually know what love is... ive never felt it.. do i even want it?
i then get filled with the strongest of all emotions.. an emotion thats far stronger then love... hate...
the hatred consumes me, followed up by a deep depression and bitterness... then i daydream that the world burns.. annihilation, destruction, dark and sadistic fantasies form... and i get satisfaction from them.. a feel of revenge... vengance.. that.. makes me happy.............................................................................

I think I'm happy most of the time when I'm not at work o_O
Not that I particularly hate my job, but GOD working in an office is boring.
Someone kill me please if I'm still doing this in 5 years.

That does sound fantastic indeed.

I feel happy when my brain decides it's not going to worry about things. This is a randomised occurrence.

When I finish in my gym

Heavy session, well planned with enough spare time, not having to stop to do something else on time.

Fit girls in there. I feel on top of the world, especially when I enter with extra spur to fire my urge to push & pull more weight, for longer, and run more each time

A game of squash was much better with an opponent who usually beat me, feeling rewarded with exhaustion. Now we never meet. He's only across town. But he's married with a son. My friends' girlfriends never liked me. Same for my brother's wives.

Thinking of a reward to be employed outside an office, which I'd never considered before. Do I have a scrambled head?

When I put in a effort and push through the line of pain and doubt. The sense of achievement brings happiness.

Getting lost in something, I really feel that happiness in taking photos, seeing some amazing things and then being pleased with the results.

As usual i agree with Kiwong. We are runners so of course we love accomplishment.

I also love it when i connect with another person, mainly a woman. When there is that moment when we laugh together and understand eachother. That's happiness.

Never. When I lost the love of my life to cancer five years ago this week, the dump on my grief mountain overflowed into every other area of my life. The grief just grows the older I get. So tired. I do a lot, but everything is a painful experience of some sort. I get glimmers, don't get me wrong, but the tears come so often my eyes now look like I am 250 years old.

sorry you make me laugh. In class we cheked a theory called "opponent process theory ( of course) ", it says that some stuff in our lives makes us feel happy, euphoric, sad, feeling down etc but it isn't a homeostatic state and our body is always wanting to maintain a balance, the balance in that case is feeling "neutral" not so happy or so bad because actually that feelings are not a balance, they are extreme feelings, *maybe that's the reason because you think that your happiness depends for a while on your weekly show or your fridge full of fresh food, happiness and sadness are not forever

When I'm myself, comfortable and confident to do anything. Working on trying to make this happen more often than once in a blue moon. Even if I'm crawling, it's still progress right? :)

So in a nutshell, the happiness in my life atm is determined by a crappy tv show and the ammount of food in my fridge. That does sound really sad...

It really is sad.. I think its true for a lot of people though. That doesn't make it better but to me its nice to know I'm not the only one... What's your tv show? I can recommend The Borgias... nothing better than escaping your own life and traveling back in time.

It is sad, but in the end I guess it comes down to lack of inspiration. Maybe you can try watching some other things too, like foreign language movies and tv shows or documentaries etc? That might give you inspiration to look for other things in life!
