Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - 9/10

I was under the impression this was going to be a crappy movie just to make money off the success of the series, but no it was goooood. POTC 5 in the works! :D

I really like period pieces (true stories) and this one was about an artist and a woman's life so very touching and inspirational. The cinematography was also gorgeous. I didn't like the forced accent by the main actress though, it kind of was distracting.

The Reivers (1969) - 10/10

In 1905 Mississippi, Steve McQueen and company take a stolen automobile on a joyride to a Memphis cathouse and beyond. A delightful coming-of-age story from the novel by William Faulkner, with a brilliant, uplifting score by John Williams. Nothing not to like here, though it may not be appropriate for all ages.

Dredd 7.7/10

I'm generally not one for overly violent movies, but I enjoyed this. I've not read the comics or seen the original movie, so I have nothing to compare it to.

Flesh and the Devil (1926) - 9/10

John Gilbert and Greta Garbo shatter the commandments in this steamy silent romance. The real-life chemistry between the stars is extraordinary. Quite racy for its time.

If you've never explored the world of silent cinema, this would be a terrific film with which to start.

Iron Man 3 7.9/10

I enjoyed it. I've not seen any of the Iron Man movies in order, though, so if there is any "myth-arc," it probably flew right over my head. RDJ and Gwyneth Paltrow are just so damned adorkable, it's hard not to like them.

Watched this documentary today, it was rather interesting. Wasn't all that eye-opening or inspiring though.

I was half way through "They Live" by director John Carpenter, well to the famous fight scene actually and my free version quit playing but I was really loving that movie a lot. Great story about finding magic sunglasses that let you see what's really going on in the world and how we are all programmed and controlled and that there is a bad alien race among us acting like humans but they are not. I hope can find a version and finish it. Good movie!

update-Just finished...damn the bad guys win. Not good....not good at all......

Cute main charter dude is nice to watch in all the shirtless scenes :)

8/10

The trailers for this animated film were terrible, but it was funny, heartwarming, and very cleverly written. It also has Russian Santa.

Saw Iron Man 3 last weekend. I give it an A. I really enjoyed it. I would have given it an A+ but there were times when they talked a bit too much.
