Hate to be out of the loop, hate to be in it.

No joke, when I clicked in this thread right now, I was coming in here to post that I am about to throw up because I just happened to see the mention of someone's NAME on Facebook. (Someone who bullied me in high school) Why do we keep going back... FOMO (fear of missing out)?

Same with smart phones. Mine has a gps i can't disable and Google always wants to know my location, it flashes "turn on location". I can turn the gps either on or to 911 only. Great. So its either public to all or public to the jack-booted thugs. Yay.

wow so they don't give you the option to turn off location tracking?

I am so glad I don't have a cell phone.

I do the same thing and I end up so depressed and hating myself. Why do we do this?

Get take-aways and go somewhere nice to eat it? Eat with fingers? I hate sitting, eating and trying to be social

I really am growing to hate it though, don't like to post much anymore, mostly just read. I use it for messaging my family. Hate to be out of the loop, hate to be in it.

One day about a year ago I decided enough was enough and deleted my Facebook page. The first few days (perhaps even two or three weeks) was tough because I didn't know what people were doing or what was going on.

I urge both of you to delete it and stick to it. It does get better and you start to realise that you could do without the photos of people's dinner and the terrible spelling and grammar errors.

(Seriously, why upload a picture of your steak? Everyone knows what steak looks like. Nobody cares that you're eating steak.)

Mate, just be yourself. 🙂 Let her do the lion's share of the talking and just be a good listener while adding in your two cents occasionally. Don't extrapolate your thoughts because you'll undo yourself and make yourself nervous. In other words, don't try to impress her too much too often - she already likes you for who you are so just be that person.

Good luck!

I've been giving it to a couple of Liberal pollies on their facebook pages.

The ones that wanted to dump dredge spoil on the reef, and delist world heritage forests. Maybe they'll send the tactical response group to my unit for being so subversive!

Facebook can really be a way of exercising people power! Getup a facebook group of activists were able to put pressure on international banks not to fund the Abbott Point port expansion. They have 203 000 members.

^Great advice there, kihira.
Therefore you are not sitting directly facing each other, outofthisoworld. If you go to a nice park to eat it, you can sit side by side on the same seat, therefore it will be less awkward.

Thx all for the great advice's!!! It's a new day and I'm all fresh so I got hope everything is going to be alright, there are no parks downtown where I work, i'm actually meeting her on my lunch hours, but my idea is to try getting a table by the corner or something where it's more cozy, it's gonna be great! I gotta try to keep looking at her and not at the wall! :omg:

Pretty soon its gonna be that every time a citizen interacts with the cops, they'll hook his/her phone up to something and see who they talk to and where they've been and when. And when they ask for mine, ill smile at them after i drop it and then grind it into the pavement under my boot heel. Bye bye LG phone. Get my info now, creeps!
I'd smash mine too, but I'd do it because otherwise they would see that I had no friends!

If things get too quiet bring up something you know a lot about, that way it won't be a strain to think of things to say about that topic. Like a place you visited or a job you had, or a topic you have passion about.

I feel I might have a future...in jail.

Least there will be 3 meals a day, a bed, roof and healthcare.

It's ironic/funny. When you have nothing and have been through hell there's nothing they can do to you anymore.

Better not see your picture on the news anytime soon- "lady goes on crime spree..."

Lavinia-at least on the inside you don't have to sell your soul to get a meal. I wouldn't want to be a man in jail..women are more civilized to each other by in large while incarcerated. There's really nothing that bad sounding about it. No one judges you there-you are all the same. You can spend hours reading, maybe I could work in the library, and not worry about working some ridiculous minimum wage job that doesn't even pay the rent on some sh1t hole apartment in some sh1t hole city, where you have to worry about getting raped or killed by men.
I am already a slave living in prison and I am "free". No body gives a crap about me on the outside. Maybe I would make some good friends. I have nothing to loose anymore. Well, when I think about my life honestly I never had any thing ever to begin with.

-------------Rant----------
I refuse to degrade myself anymore by trying to make a life in and I quote "Civilized Society" which is the most uncivilized place ever!
