How are you feeling?

In my experience they don't like to admit that they have anything to do with the fact that what they said or suggested has not made any improvement for you.
I had one insult me when she had nothing more to suggest.
Saying that it was my fault that the treatment did not work because "You are just like a little child in Kindergarten who always needs someone to hold your hand" said with a disgusted tone in her voice!
That is cruel! Well I think it was her who acted childish.
Lonely as always. Thinking about life in general and him, its amazing how some people are so lucky and some are so not. Meh but probably someday things will get better if I keep at it.

I think about this all the time. Very few people agree with me but I now feel that success is 80 percent luck and 20 percent work. Without luck there is nothing to work at!!!
Or to put it another way. Luck is the receptacle for the plug of hard work. You can work very hard but without lucky breaks you will go nowhere.
This is not to say that action isn't necessary, it is. But when you realize that the world is like a giant casino, you realize that there are times you must step away from the machine, because everytime you push the button and make a bet and lose it takes a little bit more of your energy.
Here in America we don't talk about luck. You are responsible for your own fortune or misfortune. I used to think this way as well but now I know better. I have seen too much. Life is not a level playing field by any means.

I don't know really. My emotions have been off this week, especially during certain times, and I don't know why. I don't know whether it's still PMS or whether it's some sort of underlying confidence/self-esteem issue, but for the life of me I can't figure it out and it's really starting to bug me. I feel a bit depressed when I should be feeling good, and sometimes I want to cry when I should be feeling pretty happy. I mean, I have a lot going on here and yet here I am feeling terrible. Why?? I don't get it, I really don't. I've never felt so backwards before.
I'm sorry. Sometimes our minds fog the good that we have. I hope you feel better.

Loneliness is crap, but I know you'll get lucky. :) What about life are you thinking of?

Why? Seasonal affective disorder?

I-may-have-to-go-out-'cause-I'm-running-out-of-stuff-and-I'm-afraid-the-car-won't-start disorder.

It's now down to 2°F (-16.7°C), and that's crazy goddamn cold, especially for this part of the U.S.

Also, it's cold out there.

And it's cold, too.

Ah, I understand. The only way you'll know if the car will start is by checking. Unless you feel you can survive on what you have, you'll have to make a trek to the shops eventually.

America is really copping it bad.

At least maybe there will be fewer other humans out if you go now.

You're right, Mikey. It's just such an ordeal for me even to walk out the door (that being a story for another thread, possibly soon to come) that I dread the thought of going through it all only to find that the ol' buggy won't budge. It's only a quarter-mile walk to the store across the street, but with single-digit temperatures and 20 mph winds, that won't be much fun either. It's also uphill both ways—literally. Fortunately, I can blow the shopping off until tomorrow, at least, so that's what I'm going to do.

How...how can it be uphill both ways?

I wouldn't want to do anything in your weather either.

I live in the mountains. Everything is either uphill or downhill from everything else. Flat just doesn't happen here. My home and the store are at approximately the same elevation, but the road between is considerably lower, so whichever way I'm going, I have to walk uphill from the road. It's also downhill both ways, when you think about it, but that seems less significant when I'm grumbling about having to make the trek at all.

I swallowed some toothpaste yesterday night while brushing my teeth. For about 5-10 minutes I was in a state of total shock and panic until I looked up on google and found that a tiny amount won't kill me. It's now tomorrow and I'm still alive. :)

I hope you made the trek. I can understand that your location being so hilly it'd be terrible if you're unmotivated to go out.

I'm not 100% yet, but I'm feeling a lot better than I have been the last week. It's been a horrendous start to the year but I finally feel like I'm on the way back up. My psychologist will be unhappy to hear this but I'll look forward to telling her.

Since this, I've eaten really terribly and not slept much so that couldn't be helping, either.

Thanks to all the people here that have been there for me during this difficult time. If I was a billionaire you'd all be invited to my yacht for caviar as a big thank-you.
