hahaha~ yes, Beleza- that's lovely!

I live by the water. During the summer months (of which we only get 2. This is Canada. haha) girls are always walking around in their bikinis in the middle of town. The shops along main street all have their; 'no shoes, no shirt, no service' signs-- but I've seen more than a few bikini-clad girls in these shops and no one seems to bother them.

I suppose I'm just jealous because I'm too ugly to walk around in a bikini and not be pulling my hair out and drowning myself in the bay.
I wear a one piece... and a long sleeve shirt with a hood and jeans and a hat to shade my ugly mug to the beach on the 2 days/year that I might actually go.

I strongly, strongly disagree with that statement, just saying >.>

I just came across another one of your postings WeirdyMcGee. Don't be too hard on yourself, reading that and your other post made me sad. You're a human being and I think you should feel beautiful at some point and time. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable, but it doesn't sound like you're comfortable and you're masking yourself because you fear of how you look. I don't always feel comfortable with my self out in the open either. It's the beach and it only comes 2 months a year. I think you should let the breeze beat on your skin, flow through your hair and take the dip that you want. Maybe you can buy a swim cover or a caftan made out of light materials if you don't want to expose your self. I have no clue how you look, but I like you a lot. Fly away and feel free in your skin and what you're truly happy with and what you desire, that's my advice.

I have 3 pairs of short shorts - denim. Around here, a lot of girls wear them so it doesn't look out of place. Saying that, these aren't skanky looking girls, they pair short shorts with long, flowy tops or tights. Instead of looking trashy they look indie and cute. I guess I wouldn't mind walking around in short shorts as long as guys don't ogle me. I don't think I attract that sort of thing anyways because I look quite conservative (meaning dressing for late 20s or 30s).

I wouldn't wear hot pants though, meaning those so short that bum cheek creases are showing.

i think it would be a great idea if the 16 members who picked the first choice would post photos of themselves in their short shorts

awright, the 10 members who picked the third choice should post their photos, too, i guess

If 16 girls and 10 guys post pics wearing shorts I'll change my answer and I'll take one of my sister's shorts and post a pic wearing them.

I refuse to wear shorts. my thighs touch so if I wore shorts I'd constantly be pulling them down after my thighs touching makes them ride up. and heck no i'll never wear short shorts.

I prefer skirts,maxi dresses/maxi skirts,sundresses,and jeans.

never.shorts.

miniskirts?...pics or gtfo...but actually just stay and call me a jerk. i really need to put a breathalyzer on my internet so I can't make posts like these anymore that cause people to not like me extra. ::(:

I'm the same, I don't like to show too much skin either seeing as everyone would probably go blind due to the pale whiteness of my skin.

Denim - no, I like something more comfy! :)
Mostly around the house too... (while my dad rants if I venture outside it yikes!!)

Mum has worn short pants when we were kiddies too and he didn't have a problem with it then??
(And she had not-so-supermodel figure too lol!!)

I don't get the whole 'my legs are not enough (insert adjective here) for shorts tho' - if it's hot & you're hot, dammit (are you gonna risk a stroke in a heatwave? Okay, I have a very 'hot' attick!!) - when are you gonna wear'em, when you're 70?

an ex-roommate with great legs started wearing shorts around the campus after she has been scared to do so before ('Even your roommate wears'em' her mates said, I was slightly insulted but she DID have better legs than I lol!!)
no one fainted, no one died...??

at the beach, you see people wearing all sorts of weird beachware in all sorts of bodyshapes!!
(old people, young...)
Even not at the beach, I've seen a girl who was vastly overweight in a denim mini skirt and she was ROCKIN' IT!! :) (And had a hot boyfriend too!! long term, they now have a kiddie together... okay a slightly longer mini skirt tho)

my legs/knees are not perfect either, actually I prefer knee-length skirts and such (as a teenager wouldn't touch a skirt with a stick either lol) or longer, in public especially

but if you want to wear shorts... there's no law against it, is there??
and werewolves can be pretty sexy too haha!! There are series & books written about them!!

/rant over lol

PS For guys out there: not all are trying to 'look' sexy lol!!
a friend got very angry if someone criticised her choice of wardrobe too - 'It's hot outside, what do you expect??'

I understand preference for longer coverings too, some people may also be sensitive to sun, there has been a lot of skin cancer, and sometimes it's better to be covered than to risk something like that - I can even understand that under desert sun maybe being covered from head to do was the best sun protection!!

Okay this makes sense, people (tourists) who don't live there probably go with the 'Ah let's have a vacation' attitude of 'No one knows me anyway' (I've done this on vacations too haha, or when I lived in the university city)

I think it's easier to go for this where no one knows you...

Shops want profits, above all, I guess?
(Those are weird signs, haven't seen them in shops here?? Even at the seaside??
Isn't it normal that people go around in bikinis at the seaside? /confused/
Though I don't dare to anymore, cause of some skin 'dots' yikes.. a friend's mum had skin cancer and since then I've been careful...)

Truth be said I've been wondering about anything short this year (even knee-length skirts or such) since I got a 'war injury' last year (okay furniture fell on me, it doesn't look pretty!) but after reading this thread I think I won't be bothered too much lol!! (need to figure out if sun is okay on it tho - that's the main factor I guess??)

PS Wanna see you McGee!! I think you could pull it off too!!

Of course there's practical reasons for short shorts, but it still does look sexy.

I like the outcome of the poll right now.
19:19 for girls. Even on either side... and then
13:31 for the guys. haha

I'm female and would not wear short shorts. I'm overweight and too self-conscious. Plus, I just don't think it's all that attractive. If other people want to wear them and can pull it off, then that's great for them. I just think they look a little...trashy? I don't know. I can understand wearing something like that around the house or if it's a really hot summer day. But to just wear them to show off is...meh. That's just me, though.

I'm a guy and I don't think I've worn shorts in public since I was old enough to articulate to my mother that I wouldn't be wearing any she bought. I can vaguely recall having been teased about hairy legs, but now it's purely out of habit. And I'm talking about shorts that are like an inch above the knee (which even if I wore shorts, seem too short). I don't find shorts all that attractive, but then I've never quite understood why people find legs attractive either.

And of course this part of Texas is lucky to get two or three months of 'not summer', here defined as those strange months at the beginning and end of the year where the mercury drops below the 80 (27c) degree mark. The rest of the year is well above that and I only ever wear jeans in that heat.

Thanks to this thread, I have actually started taking notice of girls wearing short shorts, and there's a LOT of girls doing that, even really young girls who couldn't be older than 12. I guess it's just the fashion.

I guess it's just the fashion.

Go to any clothing store aimed at girls and young adults and short shorts will be the only shorts available.
Won't find anything a few inches past the crotch unless you go to a store aimed at older/'mature' women.

Come to college Mikey and that's all you'll ever see::eek::. That and other revealing clothing that makes me embarrassed to look at women. I guess sexuality is becoming more emphasized or something. College women seem to like wearing revealing clothing, or rather they're being forced to, I guess::p:.
