I post this topic because I am interested to see where people rate themselves and want to see whether there are any correlations that come up.

So would you rate yourself as an interesting person? How many hobbies do you have (excluding time wasters)?

I don't know if I am interesting or boring, but I don't find my hobbies boring. The ones I have, I am passionate about.

Despite my lack of self confidence (mostly image related) I think I am an interesting person. I can have intelligent conversation about anything. Im open to all types of music, movies, and tv shows. Before I had SA I was always out and doing something. Snowboarding, going to movies, bowling, whatever. I can't even think of all the hobbies I enjoy, though SA has prevented me from doing most of those things I love for some time now.

Whether I am interesting or not really depends on who it is I am talking to, and whether or not I identify with the other person. I do consider myself fairly adept at having a normal and easy conversation when I am not feeling shy or anxious (comfortable and at ease), so in that sense, yes I would be interesting.

So if i was to say that i enjoy watching documentaries on the tv, is that time wasting too? a hobby is relative, something that you personally gain satisfaction, enlightenment or enjoyment from. I dont think its fair for someone to say that something that you enjoy doing is a waste of time.

Unfortunately I'll have to say I'm boring and have less than 5 hobbies. People seem to have had more interesting and eventful lives with lots of experience. I think in the future I can become more interesting, but at this moment in time I'm pretty boring, anybody who's spoken to me on the mini messenger can testify to that! :D

I'm trying to find new hobbies. Recently I ordered some manga books to read. But I'm not sure if reading counts as a time waster or a "true" hobby. I play video games and have a lot of knowledge about them, but most people do so I guess that doesn't count either lol

Docos would be okay. Simple idea is if you feel comfortable talking to other people about it, then it is a genuine hobby. If you feel somewhat reserved about speaking about it, then it is a time waster. Don't be embarrassed to admit that you have time wasters, because unless you have lots of hobbies or work long hours, then you may struggle to fill the time otherwise.

Why must one have several hobbies in order to be considered interesting? Although I do consider myself very boring and have practically no hobbies, it's just a question I find I ought to ask. I think that there are different things that would define a person as being interesting, and hobbies are just one of these.

i have many interests, But you can be interesting without hobbies too:p.
It just depends on the personality. But of course hobbies are great to talk about, and share it with people. Like I share music, or other things.
But it also depends how good you are at it. (Yeah, you have to be original :/..)
But I think you guys on spw are interesting and inspiring, Really!:]

I think I am. Others may or may not, but I have to live with myself so I'm the main person I should please. Makes sense to me.

I think I am a very interesting person. Although, due to my lack of self-confidence, I mostly come across as a "boring" person. :/

True. I don't engage in any specific activities which could be considered hobbies. If I'm interesting, I think it's because of my personality, the life choices I've made which have brought me here and made me who I am, my interests, looks, background, sense of humor and way of thinking.

I bet you have your own qualities which make you interesting.
