Is meditation the key in dealing with SA. which is woster the people you know are the people inside our minds. My weapon in SA is writing I find myself making a lots of notes on this. My imagination is anther weapon I use pictures and words go hand and hand. when I am trouble with words use pictures when I am trouble with pictures use words this is a saying that I always use to help shape my mind when I am lost. I also use the Bible. My question to all of you is what weapon are you using against SA. What calms you down when you are having anxiety attack ?

Re: Choose your weapon...

I wouldn't recommend using the same item/system every time you feel anxious, unless its is something uncommon. there is a chance that if you use writing every time you feel anxious, your mind will make a connection with the note taking with SA. this could lead [long term] to you developing anxious feelings when ever you write

Acheivement. Knowing you've done something important so you can focus on that instead of the problems you face.

Responsibility. Getting away from the stress and denial that anger can bring. Happiness doesn't come form asking but giving.

Knowing. To be intelligent enough not to back yourself in the same corner again. Problems that always stem from wanting to be part of something instead of breaking away from the pack and having the balls to question things more. Be your own person, be infront not in line.

Being clear minded. A trophy is nothing without meaning, the bigger picture will always beat out popular opinion. Everyone always seems to live life going through its daily struggles but who really gets to do what they want in life? You only live once, how can you do something if you don't do it?

Being clear. Freedom comes when instead of you looking in the mirror, the mirror looks in you, when instead of killing the bad guy he is now the example of change, when everything you want comes to light because you made it happen and your enemies only helped... but they of course didn't make it.

My chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise....

My two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency....

Well, I wouldn't call it my weapon so much as my defense mechanism. Sometimes it's an attitude, because I want to show people I'm not going to take their crap. Oftentimes it backfires on me though, and I feel worse.

It's not a good idea but it's sometimes my last desperate attempt to gain some footing in an interaction.

I rely on my imagination mostly. Will too, but imagination much more so.

Specifically, when I find myself in a situation where I'm forced to interact socially with strangers (my biggest problem, by far) I try to imagine a friend, standing just out of my view, who's watching the interactions. Wanting to "impress" the friend - combined with the feeling that I'm not alone - I've found is a nice little trick, or "mental weapon" in the battle against social anxiety.

anger. and because the response must be 10 characters or more, this second sentence is just to fulfill that posting requirement so please ignore it. unless you're bored, then you can read and enjoy it, along with this third sentence .

Until I can find/create an authentic lightsaber, I'm stuck with humor, avoidance, and music.
