I have a pretty good one.

I had a crush on this girl since kindergarten and never had the nerve to tell her. Well flash forward to junior year high school history class where she, another guy, and I had to do a project on the roaring 20’s. We had to write up some news articles about 20’s culture and post them together like a real newspaper.

Well the day came when we finished the project and we had to present it to the rest of the class. Instead of each group getting up and presenting the papers to the whole class, the teacher had us split up with one person traveling to each paper taking notes, and the remaining two people explaining their paper to the other teams note taker (kind of a convoluted description, but the point is that the other guy in my group was sent to the other posters).

This left me and my crush together explaining different parts of our paper. As we were presenting we just seemed to click, and the back and forth dynamic we had going was great. I was able to make her laugh with a few well placed quips. It is one of the only times in my life where I felt like I was charming someone.

After we had finished and everyone was returning to their seats she turned to me and said, “We really make a great team”.

Even typing this now gives me chills. We never had any more contact after that, which is okay. In that one moment in time I was justified in my belief that I could be something to someone, even if it was only being a good history project partner.

I'll take it any day!

While my husband and I were out walking once, two boys (Maybe around 12 - 14 years of age), stopped and shouted to us "You two are so right for each other!" which was very nice! I've also been told that I am genuine, intelligent and interesting...

I have to really think about this...

I used to volunteer at shelters frequently when I still lived in the city, mostly cooking, serving food and doing laundry.
One time, an older man told me that 'If everyone in the world were more like you, the world would be a paradise.'

I'd usually find something like that to just be talk but I felt that he had been through alot of rough times and really appreciated me, so it struck me as something sincere and sweet.
...it would take more than that to turn the world into a paradise for everyone, though.

I can't remember. I guess I should have written it down. I do remember when my first boyfriend told me I was beautiful. I was able to keep a straight face but in my head I was thinking, "ARE YOU CRAZY??!??"

my ex-wife told me that the only reason she didn't leave me six months earlier was because the sex was so good

Once in a time of complete chaos and awkwardness - a group sitting around a table - I was out of breath, shaking, mumbling and in the end proceeded to spill my bottle of beer all over everyone - but before all that, someone looked at me and said, out of nowhere, as if channelling some sort of esoteric message: 'Moments don't oblige you to do anything.' It's kinda hard to translate, but that's the gist of it.That was a long time ago, but it's still echoing in my head. I think the meaning is, you are never obliged to behave in a certain way because of your former actions. Every moment is now, and you're free.

I ran away after the beer accident. That was the first time I realized something's wrong with me.

Someone once told me, "you'll go far in life" a couple of years ago. It meant a lot to me since it came from someone my own age who I didn't know very well. Haha, when things like that come from a close friend or family member, I don't tend to believe them. XD

Anyways, I wish I can prove that person right.

I'm sure you can. :)

Whenever a teammate compliments me on my hockey skill I feel really good because I just started playing.

My ex-girlfriend told me I was funny and very likable when we first started dating. Three years after we broke up we started talking and being friend again and she told me she really liked my ideas and analogies on certain subjects.

Once a very religious co-worker told me as soon as she met me she could tell I had a beautiful spirit (paraphrasing but that's the gist).

A potential girlfriend once told me that most people would agree that I was "more good-looking than most".

Those are just a few nice ones. I'd love to have a girl come up to me though and just tell me she thought I was funny/cool and wanted to get to know me more. If that ever happened, that would be the best

One time I was just walking to class and a guy passing by told me I was cute. I never get complimented by anybody so it was nice (and a little awkward).
