Dude, Where's My Car? - 8/10

Silly movie but it's funny and entertaining. Better than what I remember it.

I watched a some more movies lately:

Drive: 10/10 stars

I'm not sure if I put another movie up for movie of the year so far, but if I haven't, I want this one to be my movie of the year so far.

Perfect plot and I loved the 80s feel to it. Fabulous soundtrack and Gosling's jacket is the coolest I've ever seen.

Gosling plays a guy that is similar to many people on this website including myself, an introvert that likes to do often times more than talk. Everything about his character is beautiful, the toothpick, the confidence, and the quiet charm. Oh yeah, and he is smooth as silk and knows how to take care of problems like people trying to kill him.

This movie seemed to mix now with the past into a sweet film.

Contagion: 5/10 stars

I expected more out of this movie because of Matt Damon, one of my favorite actors. The movie had a good picture, but I found it a more boring version of Outbreak.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Caller: 7/10 stars

This movie was kind of interesting. I like these movies that combine history with the present. It reminded me of that Dennis Quaid fireman movie, I forget the name.

Scary Movie: 8/10 stars

I've seen it too much but decided to watch it again at this woman's house because it was on netflix. Something really funny happened during the part when that guy in the shower has the baby d--- and this woman was doing something with my......We both started laughing because the guy in the movie was saying baby d--- so loud while the woman i was with was down there. It was funny, sorry if I creeped you guys out with that story, i thought it was an interesting story.

The Hunger Games 8/10
Obviously, to keep their PG-13 rating, they had to cut out or water down a lot. I was still satisfied, though. It was fun and intense and still had some scenes that shocked audience members. I heard lots of gasps and shocked sounds and, at one particular scene, many people screaming and jumping out of their seats.

The Muppets 8/10
I didn't actually get to see the whole movie, but what I saw was really cute and funny. Amy Adams breaking out into song in the restaurant was great. :D

21 Jump Street: 9/10
Ok, so I don't think I ever laughed so hard at a comedy before. Really good! Channing Tatum & Jonah Hill together are so funny.

I really wish I could find season 3 and 4 of weird science. I watched the last episode of sliders it didn't end how I would hope but I love the concept of it, but I hate how they hook you and then end it off with a bs ending.

Shark Night: 2/10 stars

No, I didn't use the 3d glasses. Probably would have been better with those.

Still, this movie was just stupid. A lame plot filled with a bunch of predictable sequences. The problem with some of these horror movies is that it's the same old song every time.

Killer Elite: 3/10 stars

Almost all of Jason Statham's movies are a disgrace to the action genre. I just don't like his fake movies with fake, flying around fighting scenes.

Sorry but De Niro's acting career is finished. It has been for the past 2 years or so. He was overrated in his prime.

Watching this movie just made me miss the late 80s to early 90s when action movies like Predator and Die Hard were real action movies. Good thing Mission Impossible is still around.

The Rum Diary: 8/10 stars

It got bad reviews on Netflix, and I don't see why? I thought it was a fabulous film. I got the feeling that I was having fun watching this movie, which not all movies can do. Johnny Depp is great, as usual, and Ribisi's character was also cool.

Also featured a very attractive woman, Amber Heard (no surprise, many actresses are) and great classic cars.

The Whistleblower: 6/10 stars

Rachel Weisz is a good actress and she does a good job in this one. It's amazing how messed up society is and you'll see what I'm talking about if you see this movie. They have these women that are basically sold into slavery and there are police that make sure the women stay slaves. These women are pretty much forced to do sex with any man that pays. It's some messed up stuff.

The movie did a great job of showing how so many bad things are going on in the world and nobody is doing anything to stop those things.

After watching The Hunger Games, I had a Netflix/Jennifer Lawrence movie marathon.

Winter's Bone 7.5/10 This is the movie that Lawrence got her Oscar nomination for. She was fabulous, as usual. Like a lot of her pre- X-Men/Hunger Games movies, it was very gritty. The movie takes place in the Ozarks. I spent the whole time wondering if my little section of the world (not too far from the Ozarks) has a dark underbelly like the one portrayed in the movie. It certainly has the same drug problems.

The Poker House 8.5/10 This is the movie Lawrence should have gotten an Oscar nomination for. I thought she was beyond amazing. Again, another gritty movie. It was written and directed by Lori Petty (Kit in A League of Their Own) and has a twist at the end that makes you think about the movie again in a brand new way once it's over. There were great performances all around and it was both heartbreaking and optimistic at the same time.

The Hunger Games.
6/10
To me, it just seemed to move too fast. I feel like they didn't emphasize the 'pretending to be in love' scenes enough. If that wasn't enough to convince me they were in love, then the Capitol must've been dumb. I guess maybe I just think that because books are always more detailed and you can 'hear' the person's thoughts.

Besides that, it was nice to see what everything looked like. I didn't expect district 12 to look like it did and I really enjoy the natural sunlight in the movie. Made it feel real and gave me a longing for summer. : ( I also liked Gale more in the movie than in the book. Maybe because he doesn't do as much....and it's only based on the first book.

The Departed: 9/10 stars

This was one of the top movies of the year it came out, like '05? All star cast that delivers. I like these gangster/cop violent movies.

I've now seen this movie about 4 times.

The Burning Plain 7.5/10 I finished my Jennifer Lawrence/gritty indie movie marathon earlier today with this one. I give it an A for plot and acting (Lawrence, along with Charlize Theron, JD Pardo, and Tessa Ia were great). But when stupid old me figures out the twist 40 minutes into the movie, well.... that doesn't ever happen because I'm not that clever. But it happened with this movie. Still, I did enjoy it.

The Marines (PBS special): 6/10 stars

The first 30 minutes was outstanding. They showed real recruits and what they have to do when the first get on base in South Carolina. This is some real military stuff.

It did get a little boring but I kind of expect that with these learning documentaries.

Good footage and great sources.

Salt - 7/10

Incredibly confusing, I might have to watch it again. Awesome action film though. I don't think I could ever get tired of seeing Angelina Jolie kick some ass. However, I don't think this is a movie I'd watch over and over again.
