Pterodactyl
Technically, being needlessly-pedantic, pterosaurs were not dinosaurs, but I'll allow it. If you buy one of those packs of plastic "dinosaurs" from the dollar store, 100% chance it comes with a pterodactyl. And a dimetrodon, which is also not a dinosaur, but I'm not bitter.

Definitely a classic, and it's one of the cooler names for an extinct animal. The silent 'P' on the front adds to the experience, making it look like the name of some alien death god. It's almost disappointing that it just means "wing finger".

Seriously, you almost can't find a multi-species dinosaur illustration without some pterodactyls hanging around. Wouldn't be right. Such a classic. 9/10

Apatosaurus
That's an interesting one. When I was a kid in the 90s, half the kids in my class would say their favorite was Brontosaurus, and invariably the teacher would correct them and say "there is no Brontosaurus, it's actually Apatosaurus". It was about as annoying of an exchange as when you'd say "can I go to the bathroom", and the teacher would come back with "I don't know, can you?" So with that in mind, Apatosaurus loses points for being marketed as the pedantic name for one of the all-time classics.

So you might think "okay, Brontosaurus is a certified legend of a dinosaur, does Apatosaurus inherit all of those cool points for actually being Brontosaurus?" The answer is no, because Apatosaurus and Brontosaurus might be different things after all. There isn't a solid consensus among paleontologists right now, but there are good reasons to think that they were, in fact, different dinosaurs. They take away Pluto, but they just might give back Brontosaurus.

All of that said, you might think Apatosaurus gets snubbed in the rating for every reason I just said, but you'd be wrong. In my mind, the individual clades of sauropods don't really stick out from each other that much. Unless you were truly enormous like Argentinosaurus, or have an interesting name and shape like Diplodocus, you're just one of the group to me, a very successful group of the largest land animals to ever live. Badass.

Apatosaurus gets 8/10 for being a sauropod.
Brontosaurus gets 10/10 for being the sauropod, and for being called "thunder lizard", and for the redemption arc.

I can't say I have one now but I'm particularly fond of the "Albertosaurus" due to my childhood.

Do you know what it meant to me, a child named "Alberto" who was fascinated by the dinosaurs (other children used to make fun of me because of that, calling me "dinosaur" like bitch, do you even know how cool they were?), To discover that there was a dinosaur called like him?? (Minus the "saurus" part 🤣). Even more, finding out that they were relatives to the T-Rex?!

They were part of the king's family and I, as a human called like them, was part of the royalty!

Yeah, call me "dinosaur" you peasants.

But I'd say anything aquatic would be my pick now. Water creatures are something else lol.

Wishing I had more of a social life. How do I get one when I have no friends and very introverted . Work is killing me again and still. I lack the guts to take charge and change my ways. Just keep letting them walk on me cause I am afraid of what ifs.

I am told that I am very nice. I just suffer from lack of social skills so after awhile I stop talking to most people. I am very introverted so I don't like to go out or make dates to do anything. Its hard to keep any one as a friend.

I see. I'm so sorry to hear about that. it must feel like prison. I am very nice and I like to socialize like PM's and people who can socialize with me in real life who are not very outgoing, have SA as well or shyness/anxiety, and I look for people who can be friends with me long-term/or for life. I also have no friends in real life, just acquaintances, haven't found anyone I would initiate a friendship with and be friends if they don't contact me back, but I have online friends at least.

I also have difficulties in relationships in real life bc I have difficulty with eye contact due to being in a school in the past where there were judgmental people and not expressing myself. :( it's like a prison for me too. I can't be with regular people as friends, only the shy/anxious or SA.

Don't be to tough with yourself, is not a matter of having guts or not, it's just the way SA works.

I can't really tell you how to make friends since due to my introvert nature, i tend to lose them because I suck at keeping contact. BUT, it's always easier if you look for them in places where you have a common interest. Probably the easiest way for someone with SA is the internet or therapy groups (keep in mind tho, that you must share more things than just having SA, but at least you won't feel as judged).

As for Coworkers and ppl closer to you, there's no easier way unfortunately, I'd advice you to not overthink stuff because our brain is our greatest enemy more times than not.

Also, if you are an introvert, don't force it. Don't try to be who you really aren't. Introverts usually need more time alone in order to "recharge" after social interactions. It's ok, don't feel bad for it.

It is important that you be transparent with those closer to you, or those who are getting close. My friends know that I'm an introvert (and about my SA) and that sometimes I suck at keeping in contact so they know at least why sometimes Im absent. Then, when that happens, they try to keep in touch with me or don't mind when I talk to them after taking some time.

But yeah, there is no easy way other than places (outdoor activities, forums, therapy groups, etc.) where at least you'll have something in common. And you may meet ppl who aren't meant to be your best friends but they can still be nice and help you developing social skills and practicing those interactions.

If your fears are taking control of your life, seek help, never be afraid of that or ashamed.

Man.. what is happening to the U.S? This abortion thing is disgraceful. While it's not an easy subject, I'm pro choice. One day the courts determine to bear arms is a constitutional right and can't be messed with. The next they say the constitutional right over your own body isn't that important and it can be forgotten about. It's a very slippery slope the U.S is on right now.

Just another way religious nutters try and shove their way of life down everyone else's throats.

And people wonder why there is such resentment against certain hypocritical religious groups....

Welcome to the U.S., where a specific group of people love to whine and cry about their free-dumbs and how "communism" is taking over the country, yet go ahead and take actual freedoms away from minority groups in the name of "religion." I do not understand why this older generation, specifically the old crusty white men that are beyond the Boomer generation (because it's not just the fault of all those Boomers, and some Boomers don't even share a lot of the same ideologies), are so hellbent in keeping an ass-backwards society where only one group is superior and then having the gall to pound religious text and use it as manipulation. Our country is being ran by sad little inferior men and women who can't seem to grasp actually caring about others. I really don't get it and I really am sick of waiting for a lot of these idiots to keel over and die already (since we apparently can't have ANY other term limits for most politicians, which is absurd) to pave way for a new generation. While there are a good handful of the younger generation following in those same manipulative footsteps, I like to believe there aren't as many of them as they appear over social media and the rest of the interwebs, True equality, autonomy, and universal human rights for all people is coming. Politicians that actually care may be far and few in between, but they are out there and one day I think we will have decent and respectable leaders for our country. It's going to be slow as hell getting to those points and I probably won't live to see it all happen, but I think one day EVENTUALLY the U.S. will be better and will really look back on this shitshow of our political history in shame. Of course I'm trying to be optimistic, but of course I'm torn and even the pessimist in me thinks the U.S. will never change and will eventually fully succumb to the toxicities of religious manipulation and the Evangelical cults that are throughout the country.

Side note: When I travel or even watch videos of all the different geological landscapes, skies, bodies of water, big cities and small towns, I am so thankful to live where I do. I think, "Wow, this is a pretty great country, our different environments are so beautiful and incredible." And then I think about what a shitshow our political climate is and I start to wonder if I really want to live here the rest of my life and it breaks my heart. Something that has so much natural beauty being ran by so many morons that literally don't give a rat's ass about anyone or anything other than themselves and their wallets. Will things get even worse than they are now? Sometimes it seems that way. But I also remember that no matter how many rednecks and cults I'm surrounded by specifically in the area I live, and how many idiots are in Congress, not everyone is like that. There are people that care and that fight, even if it doesn't always seem that way. Millions of Evangelicals pounding Bibles still doesn't create as much as an impact as millions more pissed off Americans that just want a decent life for everyone else.

I guess it's the downside of democracy.. you get enough votes, you can make anything law.
I don't think abortion should be taken lightly and I think most people treat it seriously, although I have a relative who decided to terminate the pregnancy to spite her then partner.. absolutely disgraceful.
I know mostly men are on the supreme court but plenty of both genders are responsible for putting them there.. plenty of women voted for Trump..

There are recounts from doctors in multiple countries that work in abortion clinics saying they have performed abortions, only to see those women picketing the clinics against abortion later on. One recount was of a 16 year old girl having an abortion and she was seen protesting abortion at the very clinic she had the procedure at the next day..
People are hypocritical and so messed up, so self centred. I try to refrain from generalising generations because there are good and bad in each one. Same with race and gender.

I don't hold the same optimism as you though Phoenixx, when it comes to hoping politics and politicians will get better over time. Everyone's an expert until they have to deal with real world shit..and the complexity of it all.

I hope I'm wrong on that though.

I'm thinking I already reduced my benzo recently so I have to wait 3 months to reduce it again and feel happy about it. I went to my wonderful walk recently as well and had a great time. Going to another one would make me feel even better and keep on going would make me feel better but I have to sleep which I can't right now otherwise it could ruin the day and I could end up not going. Going out w/ family on the weekend is so nice and fun but I have to wait until the week is over. Another thing that's bothering me is I'm not off the anti-psychotic medication I've been on that I've tried before when I had extreme anxiety from worrying in which a natural supplement helped me after. Attempts from psychiatrist's advice in withdrawing from it have been tried but it didn't work and now she says I can't get off it now, I have to wait a year or 2 because I need to heal from trying her advice that I could try to reduce every week or 2 or 3 and being consistent which I was so I went too fast and I think that's why I had a reaction again and went back higher so even she failed to help me withdraw as quickly as possible so I'm down about that. I don't feel I need to take 1-2 yrs to heal from my reaction but maybe I do. If I feel good enough to go, I'm just going to start reducing it again because I don't really believe what she says and she wants me to be on the anti-psychotic medication in her opinion and field even though I recall it not helping for years but the natural supplement helped me shortly after I took it finally and she has lied to me before for her own reasons.

In two separate meetings at work, I feel I've been picked out by a Trustee to contribute. Why?

I think it's because I'm too quiet (which I am) and he expects me, in my role, to be dominating the proceedings.

Yesterday, he pointedly said to me: "How are you going to help?" During a meeting to discuss a new project launch.

In the first meeting, he asked what I thought in a way which didn't seem genuine and I felt it was a nuanced way of inferring that I wasn't contributing.

Added to this is the fact that when the project was created, him and another Trustee went to my colleague - who I like and respect for being so on the ball with everything (whilst I don't think I am) - to get the ball rolling when really it fell under my jurisdiction. Maybe it's good she is driving it as I probably would fall down in delivering it.

After the meeting yesterday, my CEO asked for an update and besides a brief outline, I could not remember the details of it. I don't know why. Its like in anxiety situations, I lose my memory of what was said and I don't know if it's just me or other people with anxiety who experience this.
