I wish I was a tramp..
Call me silly, call me oversensitive, I really don't care. But I personally think it's rude to call your server "Honey, sweetie, hun" or any other term of "endearment" (and I would not consider it that, I would consider it a cheap way of saying, "You're such a cute little slave, fetch me my demands, will you?").
If THEY'RE ordering from YOU, why are they calling you those things? I don't know... does anyone understand what I mean? It comes across as condescending and patronizing to me, and I freaking hate it. I do my best to ignore it but every time I hear it my insides shrivel :S
Why Lea ?
I feel like it's the only right way to live somehow.. The way we live now is so unnatural. Living outside however takes a lot of courage, toughness etc. The main problem for me is that I am scared sleeping out at night alone, even with other people. But the closeness to nature, fresh air etc., is priceless.
^ I never liked being called "hun" or "sweetie" by strangers either, but I don't consider it stating what you described. I just don't feel it's right, for some reason. I guess I feel like it's a term that families should use, people that really know you. I should have a much better reason, but I can't really describe it. All I know is that I only like that term said to me if it's by my father or my other relatives. Don't mean to sound rude, but that's just how I think of it.Call me silly, call me oversensitive, I really don't care. But, like pebbles said, you do have to deal with those types of things in that sort of environment/workplace. I used to get called "hun" and such even when I worked concessions at the theatre.![]()
