^ I never liked being called "hun" or "sweetie" by strangers either, but I don't consider it stating what you described. I just don't feel it's right, for some reason. I guess I feel like it's a term that families should use, people that really know you. I should have a much better reason, but I can't really describe it. All I know is that I only like that term said to me if it's by my father or my other relatives. Don't mean to sound rude, but that's just how I think of it.

But, like pebbles said, you do have to deal with those types of things in that sort of environment/workplace. I used to get called "hun" and such even when I worked concessions at the theatre. :p

I totally agree with you, Phoenixx, honey! :D You worked theatre concession that's cool! Well, not in actuality.

^ Ha! Maybe I shouldn't have posted that whole "disliked being called honey" bit...

Yeah theatre concessions were such a hassle sometimes, especially on the weekend nights. But surprisingly enough, the worst part about the job wasn't even the rude customers (I didn't get too many rude ones though), it was my rude coworkers and boss.

Had such a consistently-crappy day today. It's sometimes an amazing thing to see how negativity works a domino effect.

Had multiple grind-your-teeth-socially-awkward moments today.

Call me silly, call me oversensitive, I really don't care. But I personally think it's rude to call your server "Honey, sweetie, hun" or any other term of "endearment" (and I would not consider it that, I would consider it a cheap way of saying, "You're such a cute little slave, fetch me my demands, will you?").

If THEY'RE ordering from YOU, why are they calling you those things? I don't know... does anyone understand what I mean? It comes across as condescending and patronizing to me, and I freaking hate it. I do my best to ignore it but every time I hear it my insides shrivel :S

I always hated it when customers called me little pet names like that at my old job. Some of them may have very well meant it in a condescending and demeaning tone. But I think most of the people were just trying to be polite and appreciative. That's my $0.02, anyway.

Feeling really down and lonley. My girlfriend is away on holiday, and it has just hit me right in the face that without her I have no one, albeit I have just turned away an invite to meet up with a frieind; I can't figure myself out.

Tonight's going to be a long one.

What a rip-off! I just looked on Amazon at cellphones because I'm planning to buy a Smarthpone with a proper computer keyboard to replace my current cellphone.

I finally find one I like, for a very reasonable price since I'm basically just going to use it as a PDA anyway ($120 or something) the phone functions are essentially a perk for me. Then I look on a local dutch website (because you'd expect it to be cheaper locally), and it's over freaking €470,-. Then I scroll down, and there's even phones for over €600,-.

That's just ridicules, some of them cost more then my freakin' computer did. For a fancy cellphone. I must be getting old or something. :/
