I am terrified of caterpillars, what is your biggest fear?

I think of this from time to time... but only because I've already gotten my leg mangled by a sturgeon in an area that wasn't known for sturgeons.

I almost was hit by a speeding moron yesterday, it scared my father but I didn't have an ounce of fear from it.. The worst that can happen is it could have killed me.. Is that really so bad? People and anticipating interaction with people is what terrifies me so I can't speak.

It doesn't have a mouth to bite you with, really... I think it's more like a little sucker on the bottom side of it's head. haha
I jumped off a raft as one happened to be swimming past and it's spine sliced my leg open.
5 stitches.
Darn ancient fresh water fish... bein' all creepy and spiney...

I'm scared of throwing up. It's a terrible feeling and I'm sick all the time; always nervous that I'll vomit.
I vomit when I'm nervous, too. Really uncool. XD

I fear any body of water that is deeper than I am tall. After I nearly drowned as a child, I panic in water even though I've been taught how to swim::eek::. I fear Wall/Floormasters in the game The Legend of Zelda. Sad part is that I scared myself into being scared of them::eek::. It's a lot better than it was in the past though! Small bugs don't creep me out; I had a caterpillar land on the strap of my backpack last week. It was kinda funny watching it crawl, but I had to get it off and put it elsewhere (the trash). But, these fears and any other I've mentioned on here apply to me.

and i refuse to crawl into or through a tight enclosure/tunnel/crawlspace/etc. for fear of becoming trapped

I have a similar phobia about becoming trapped, or being unable to move freely. If I'm watching a movie or TV show, and there's a scene where someone is strapped to something like a hospital trolley or a bed it will trigger my anxiety. Actually being in a situation like that is probably about the only thing that would bring on a full panic attack with me.

I am the same way. My sister and I just took swimming lessons this past winter. We spent eight weeks learning how to swim in four foot deep water. Then, we transferred to the big kids pool and we both panicked when we got to the part that was 6-11 feet deep. Neither of us could swim in the deep water, even though we could swim just fine in the shallow water. It was weird. I just kept imagining that something invisible was going to grab me and drag me under.

I hated going swimming as a kid, especially really crowded pools.. When ever I went swimming, other kids would swim below me and pull me under.. I was terrified, so if I swim now, I simply go into shallow therapy pools because they are warm and also usually empty..

I threw stones at my cat today as he was chasing a snake. I like (small) snakes.

What I hate is picking up their dismembered bodies in the house.

Ok my fears are quite funny. So, no laughing:
Butterflies and moths. They attack you! Watch out in movie theatres...
The dark. You never know what is going on when you can't see it.
Birds. They fly and attack you. Can do much more damage then a butterfly.
Insects. Oh man, I will have a heart attack.

But my biggest of them all is *Drum roll please* THE OCEAN. I can't watch shark week without screaming. Oh, you know someone is sacrificing their good hearing when sitting next to me and a shark jumps at the screen. I will flip and run. Fish, whales, dolphins, water, sharks THE MOST.... *Cringes*

I had to comment because I'm such a caterpillar nerd. I'm terribly jealous of the OP for getting to observe stinging caterpillars since they have such an interesting morphology. Plus, their adult forms look so fluffy depending on the species! I scouted occasionally summer last year to no avail too, with finding swallowtail caterpillars (or any caterpillars for that matter) to grow and pupate. They have such a cute false face, with big eyes! I respect those who fear caterpillars though. :p

My biggest fear are bodies of water and the inability to know what animals are lurking beneath you at a given moment.

Err.. Many fears... Of course most of them SA related.

But this one comes to mind.

Fear of car accidents. I don't have my driving license, I will get it one day. But I hope my fear won't paralyse me. It's pretty awful what happens to human bodies when they're in horrific car accidents. Like recently that bus in the Austrian tunnel...

Also, since I've gotten into a lot of financial trouble, with Debt Collection Agencies etc. I have developped a fear of opening mail.
