Feeling a little weird and uncomfortable. I'm starting to see my boss in a different light. Yesterday, he started making unverified accusations/assumptions (not his first time) against a volunteer, which led her to quit. Today, he decided to take credit for someone else's ideas! His assistant had superb ideas about presentations, which were shared with me, but the next thing I know he took her ideas and made it like they were his own! Even worse, he didn't give credit - he only mentioned consulting an expert, a "he" when in fact the ideas belonged to his female assistant!
Yikes, this is like management at its worst! Unfortunately, he's the boss/head/topmost person at the company so there's nothing we could do about it. He has the gift of gab, as a former lecturer, and pretty much an extravert from what I could tell. But he has this passive aggressive trait that prevents him from being honest and direct, i.e. be humble when times call for it. I also think it's unfair he gets to insult people and get away with it.
Don't get me wrong, he has many good traits such as praising and complimenting people, but I think his negative traits are surfacing enough to threaten the functioning of the org?
