Absolutely. :thumbup:Try to live while you can, because it can all be taken away so quickly, until you long for even the mundane taken for granted things.
Annoyed. My uncle (half-uncle) is here visiting for some odd reason. He just showed up randomly an hour ago and he's still here. My mom decided to can apples today, so I've had to help. It's bad enough I kind of hate doing this, but to have him just standing in the kitchen yammering about his job and family while we're in the middle of this is freaking annoying and he hasn't shut up since. (I managed to sneak out of the kitchen for a quick break.) Always has to add a remark to everything too, including the stupid jabs at me about how short I am, how much of a "problem" I am, etc. He's so immature, worse than a 12 year old kid, makes me want to rip my hair out. God, please go home already!
^ Yeah the topic of my health came up again. I'm so tired of being criticized for everything that's wrong with me. I KNOW I'm not, nor have ever been, the healthiest person, but never has it been my fault. I always feel like it's brought up because I must have some sort of control over it. Oh yes, because if I really had control then I wouldn't even be in this position now would I?^ Your half uncle actually said "what a problem you are" Jeez, no disrespect intended, but he sounds like a swell guy to know.
^ Hahaha, that's pretty funny. I could always do what my dad does though and say "Hi, how are you?", barely wait for a response out of the person, and then leave and not show up for the next 3 hours. My dad doesn't like him or the rest of my mom's step/half-family either. He'll always go out of his way to find other things to do during the rare times they're actually here. I'm just glad they don't show up often. They usually only show up or talk to us whenever they want something, total moochers. This time the guy wanted some pie made, but my mom usually makes him one this time of year anyway because she's likes to be generous with food for the holidays coming up. Then I guess he was bored, even though he clearly saw we were busy, so he stood in our kitchen for 2 hours talking almost non-stop about everything and anything. I had a headache by the time he left.I know how you feel. Do what I do. When my family come to visit I usually go to the toilet and sit for a hour or so. Make noises while you're in there. Make it sound like you're hurting.

^ Lol not quite. Canning is basically processing food and putting them in glass jars that have metal lids with a rubber seal. Fill your jars with whatever food you made (I made applesauce today), put on the lids, and put it in a canner -- which is basically a large stock pot with a lid that has a pressure gauge on it, and you fill it with water. Depending on what you have, you leave it in there for so long (Applesauce took a half hour, if that.) and then remove it from the pot and let them cool and seal. Also, you canned apples? Like, putting apples in a tin can? I am curious!

It sounds fairly simple, and I guess it kind of is when it all comes down to it, but I find the process to be such a hassle. It does save a lot of money in the long run because your food is all preserved and will last for a while, but it's so hot and tedious and can be time consuming. I particularly don't like to do it, even though I love homemade food and like to eat. :I
^ Actually I feel like it's becoming a little bit more common again, kinda like knitting making a comeback among young adults, which that is probably thanks to sites like Etsy.Pay attention and learn, it's soon becoming a thing of the past. When you can pickle okra, holler at me

I'm sorry I won't holler. Pickling is something I definitely don't do. Yuck! (I'm glad you like pickled stuff though. I could never stomach it.) How about some deep-fried okra instead? That I like.
I have never seen that done in my whole life! It does sound very time-consuming. I'm not that keen. ::^ Lol not quite. Okra? Man, I must be way too Westernised. :idontknow:Oh yeah I love fried okra! I don't know which is my favorite, fried or pickled. That's a tough one...
