Sometimes. It's nice having people who can kind of understand what you are going through and who have similar experiences.

But, sometimes this site can get depressing.

Yes, I actually have been feeling better about myself since coming to this site...I dont know if it will wear off..but I hope not. It really helps to have people to talk too.

This site definitely helps to curb the sense of lonlienss with the knowledge that you are not the only one in the world going through these things, there are so many others.

In a way, yes. This site, as well as a slew of other social anxiety & social anxiety related sites help me feel better about myself & less alone. I have some "friends" online who've basically quit coming to this site & those like them because they find them too depressing, but I love them. I would feel even worse about myself & my life if it weren't for this site, & those like it.

Man, I'd love to be doing something more productive too! Yeah, if I had something more productive to do...
My day basically consists of reading, coffee, reading and checking to see what is going on with SPW friends and family. It's the absolute epitome of snoredome.

It does make me feel better sometimes. It's always nice to talk to people who I care about and enjoy talking to. However, when I'm really bad off, I can't bring myself to even sustain a basic "hi"... "hi" conversation.

Yep it does for me! I wouldn’t have made as much sense of my condition if this site didn’t exist. I would feel a trillions times worse if people didn’t open up and post what they have on here. Thanks to them, I know I am not alone with my thoughts and feelings and it helps me to keep going.

Better knowing other people are out there like us. Sad sometimes reading tough times some of us have been or are going through. But this is understandable. If everything was sweet with all of us we wouldnt be here. So anyways i see this site as a positive. Dont read the tough posts feeing sad. Read them knowing there are other people like us and that we can help each other.

true that... but i'd like to say that not only society is the problem but also the fact that it is called a disease or syndrome... I think humans can get over almost anything if they have the will and patience and yes i wouldn't go to a doctor to ask him how i can be a man.. This is stupid, wait till u see people with real diseases and them talk.. I think social phobia is a silly problem we are over emphasizing inside our heads... People hesitate and get scared on the 1st time but the 2nd or 3rd time is gonan be soo damn sexy easy...

Yeah, but I try not to stay here for too long, it gets toxic after a while. You know you have to move on with life, but until I can finally get to a certain level I'll keep coming here to cheer myself and others up.

i wouldn't go to a doctor to ask him how i can be a man.. This is stupid.

This may be stupid, but truth is you need to get in a relation with a real man first to become a real man (nothing sexual here lol). Not all doctors are good, but some of them are still humans. I never had real parents, but there was this one psychiatrist on the radio. The way he talked to people, he got such a deep understanding of everyone and their own personal problems. He may have been a little old man with only one leg left, but he was a real man with a heart of gold and steel. I wish I had him for doctor.

I don't come here often anymore because it just makes me focus on my problems more it seems. Like I'm allowing myself to be ok with the way I act because coming here is like leaving the real world and entering one where everyone's problems are actually all the same. Sometimes it makes it hard to go out and do things because you're comfortable where everyone seems to understand you. It helps to vent but most days I use it as my excuse not to do anything with myself socially.
