So, there I was having a perfectly good 2017 when suddenly, BOOM, a sucker punch in the face courtesy of LIFE. Well, at least I almost made it until the end unscathed.

I still would really like to ride my bike on the streets or to the park for exercise but I'm still too afraid of what people outside think of me, especially if I'm wearing a helmet. It's been almost eight months since I bought it. I still don't know what to do.

Could you ride it along a street where you know that not many people walk? Is there any quiet streets around, where there will be not many people to see you?
And if you wear a backpack on your back, anyone who does see you will just think you are riding to work. Not many people would negatively judge a person while they are riding to work. :)

Just get one of these and let the haters hate.

I live near two schools and a busy street so there's always traffic but on the bright side there is a public park 5 minutes away and plenty of sidewalks. Your backpack idea is a very good one, so thank you.

@Fountain
:D. That is an epic helmet. I would wear one if it didn't cut down on my peripheral vision.

2017 taught me a lot this year. It taught me that it takes more than hugs and kind words to grow attached to someone in a short amount of time.

It taught me that family members shouldn't be excluded from the list of those that can go suck....um...a slice of meat. (Children might be reading this).

Well, 2017 taught me that some women never stop acting like children, regardless of how old they happen to be.

Especially in my family. I got accused of picking on" - (her exact word) - my older sister for merely pointing out the fact that shouting during an argument doesn't make you right. And that ye cun only rely on yerself if ya want to get things done.

Lol Hot_Tamale :giggle:
Thanks for the laugh, I badly needed that.
And yes, sadly I totally agree with what you said about family members.

I'm feeling irritated and no surprise it's to do with work.

I like a laugh and a joke at work but there has to be a balance. My work space is shared with a very younger colleague who I get on with fine. A newer colleague who is the same age as my existing colleague has this annoying habit of dropping in regularly to just idly chat away and I find it annoying. Also a culture has seaped in at work when people take liberties with their lunch breaks taking in more time than they have to and others, like me, who are prompt and efficient do their allotted time. I find the above situations disturb my mood more often than not and I can't put it to one side and ignore it..

I recently read that half the work at any given job is done by the square root of the total number of workers.

That means if you have twenty-five employees, five of them are doing fifty percent the work, while the other twenty only account for the rest.

I'm done pretending like I care. If I wanted to get better, I'd be dedicated to that path, but instead I self-sabatoge and make the most feeble attempts to better myself. Apparently I haven't hit rock bottom yet, so for now I'm done lying to myself and half-assedly trying to get better. I'm not all in so I'm out. **** me and **** the world.

When I was little I used to confuse the words "itch" and "scratch". I would tell my mother I had a scratch and I had to itch it. Did anyone else have trouble with the meaning of words when they were a child?

Walker signs bill legalizing hemp farming in Wisconsin - Chicago Tribune

Hemp farming used to be an VERY profitable industry in the united states .( back before it was thrown into the same category as other types of marijuana and stigmatized)...

With legal views on Marijuana become more lenient , Hemp has the potential to make a come-back. I really think more states in the south should take a closer look at this . It could possibly be HUGE for agricultural revenue .

I have the feeling that hemp stocks are going to skyrocket in the next few years .
