How much would it take to convince you guys to go shopping today?

I'd rather have the sh*t kicked out of me.

I go through times of ugliness and I can tell it's gonna be one of those times...

Do you mean "if only..." in the sense that you wonder what things would be like if you had not done something or how things would be like if you DID do something?
I meant it as; all the things I could have achieved in my life "If only".......I did not have social phobia.
So yeah it's wondering what things would be like now, if I DID do the things that SP has stopped me from doing. :kickingmyself:

Why aren't people required to do a Basic Parenting Course and have to pass an exam at the end, before they are allowed to bring a child/children into the world?

If someone drives a car without taking any driving lessons at all, they would likely end up crashing the car eventually.

So why are parents allowed to raise a child without any training at all, and as most do, end up ruining that child's entire childhood in one way or another?

Sorry you are having difficulty getting out for shopping at the moment, Fountain.
Did you end up managing to go?
If not, good luck with achieving it tomorrow.

I would rather be severely beaten with a baseball bat, then go through a job interview.

Agreed! Ah wish ma mum n' dad were required to take that course... Maybe then ah wouldn't have turned out as I have? And I fear my sister's about repeat my mother's mistakes with her own daughters. Since she acts just like our mother. Massive ego, only care about herself. Can't admit when or do wrong. :🙁:

Hell no I didn't go shopping, ha ha.

It was merely a question, I'm not that much of a masochist. 😀

Imagine if life worked like a blockbuster video rental service. Starting at 10 years old, at the end of each day you live on Earth, you can choose to save that entire day on a digital cloud storage device. If you're having a sh*tty day at work? Having a sh*tty day at home? Plug your mind into the cloud and select from 100 different best days to relive again. Your present-day self would run on autopilot in the real world while your body is cloned and electronically transported to relive your past.

I would plug myself into the machine and relive my best, most enjoyable day at school or at home with my old dog so I could see her alive again while my present day body lives through an 8 hour shift at work.

That part about your dog did me in, I'd do the same.

The Dunning-Kruger effect.

The bane of humanity.

What does it say about a mother as a parent when their youngest child isn't just smarter than them, but smarter than the much older siblings?

Many people claim to get the runs after eating Taco Bell. What in the world do these people order when they are there? I don't understand because I have eaten Taco Bell for many years and have never gotten diarrhea afterwards.

Chocolate and caffeine, nature's antidepressants.

I had a Snickers and a Mountain Dew this afternoon and I felt like a different person for about an hour.

Is this what normal people feel like?

Good grief, what are they complaining about?

I'm kind of proud of myself today - I finally called and left a message to sign up for driver's training classes. I was waiting for the bus at the transit center with all of the tweakers, disabled people, and folks on welfare in 40 degree weather when I realized (after first pondering how many stripper cheeks the 2 dollars I had in my hand once caressed): "What the actual **** am I doing?" - I am so fed up with not being able to drive. All of the humiliation, shame, guilt, feeling like a loser/invalid, lost social experiences, friends I could have made - I am so done letting this fear define me.

I found a car that I want, but it may put me in the poor house - I am concerned about finances because that's an extra $360/month I will be shelling out. I guess I just need to give it up to the universe at this point and trust that it will all work out because I can't live like this anymore. On the plus side, my brother-in-law works at the dealership, so I will get a discount - I am hoping to get it for $10,000 instead of $12,000, so we'll see. It's a silver 2012 Hyundai Elantra - I really hope I get it and everything works out.

Good luck, Sarah.

You've worked so hard, I think the only distance between you and your goals is time.

Thanks, FountainandFairfax! I'm fighting pretty hard to overcome a lot of things in my life and even though it feels like I am treading water sometimes, I know I can't ever give up.

I really wish I knew more about computers right now. :kickingmyself:
Should've paid more attention in computer studies class during secondary school.
