What?!?! I think you are a little bit delusional my dear. You are very pretty and with a little smile on that gorgeous face of yours you must look much better. For sure is just your own insecurities getting on the way. Don't let them. And try to convice yourself that you are beautiful as you are.

I think it's so easy for a shy person to feel ugly. Many of us, especially me, lack a consistent social life so we are left without positive acceptance from peers.

Yeah, the tricky thing about it is (at least for me), that the worse we feel and the more problems we have, the more we need this positive feedback from people, which is unlikely to happen when you rather sit at home and are afraid of being rejected or getting embarassed in front of people. Saying that, I'm sure it's possible to get at least happier again on your own, but it's of course harder when there are not a lot of great friends or people in general which appreciate you.

Yeah, I see what you are saying.

For me, I don't need more positive feedback from people more than anyone else, it's just I never get that positive attention at all.

I think when someone never gets positive attention from peers, it doesn't matter how mentally tough they are, they will feel empty inside.

It's because of that that I think it's impossible to be as happy as the outgoing people are when we are on our own all the time.

It sucks but it's just a human emotion that needs to be filled: The need to be appreciated. Everyone needs to be appreciated in order to be healthy emotionally.

This is why I get mad when people say that shy people need to be more confident. Well, confidence doesn't always just magically spring up. Confidence often comes from other people making you confident by appreciating you.

I'm sorry you're going through this, Saskia. ::(: I've been feeling like this lately too though, however I don't have any of those behaviors. I really do think you're beautiful though, and I'm not just saying that. You're really pretty and I hope someday you can see that.

i totally agree with this

the catch-22 is that to get that appreciation, you have to go out there and interact with people and risk NOT being appreciated

the world will not come to you sitting alone in your room

it's sort of like investing money - you can't make any money unless you have some to start with. but even if you start out investing a little, you can build on that and let it grow and grow if you keep reinvesting

You have "good bones" as they say. Very nice features; eyes, mouth, nose and chin.
The hair is a nice colour and you have an all around fresh look BUT you don't look happy.
The eyes looking out at the world are more important than the eyes looking at you.

I agree with everyone else, your very pretty. Most chicks would kill for those pouty lips..me being one of them. I have to admit, Youre hair style isnt very flattering, but if you wore your hair down you would be gorgeous.

I really do think your BDD is coming back, and it sounds like you have a touch of OCD. You should definitely get some help before it gets outta control.

Also, smile in your pictures! Smiles make everyone beautiful!

In all seriousness, you.are.NOT.ugly!!!

You're GORGEOUS. I swear. I read your post completely before opening the pictures. I have no idea why you think you look like a troll! No way. Once I finally opened the pictures, seriously the first things that went through my head was "What....the.....eff...." You're absolutely beautiful. Like the shape of your face is perfect. I love the bone structure. And you said you just made two pictures, no big deal, but honestly, they're really good. Like those aren't embarrassing at all. I could just as easily see that first one as someone's profile picture on like Facebook or something. You really are beautiful. I was super impressed when I saw the pictures. You're gorgeous.

I am looking at a Hottie when I look at your picture. I love your cool sunglasses that you are waring. Tell the people you work with to throw out this stupid circus mirror in the bathroom and get me one that make me look pretty.

What makes you think you're ugly. You're not ugly, I am though. It's like there's a whole depressive story written on my face. You're fine

it is so weird that all of you people think so,

I am actually going through the ground, I feel like my face is ruining my whole life. I think I have symptoms of BDD again ?? I was in the toilet again, washing my face at my job for second time within one hour. At least, it's not noticeable because it's normal to go to the toilet more often. I just am in there for a minute and nobody knows what I actually am doing. (Washing my face, plucking my cheeks to make it seem more red and healthy, putting vitamins and creams on my face.. i'm crazy i know).

I do this a lot, even my parents don't know, nobody knows it but me.

I always have creams hiding in my bags, or just wash my face with water all the time.

In the holidays I didn't care that much, because I just dyed my hair, I was happy when it was red. Now it returned back to dry. And I hate the fact that my laugh seems old n ugly because I have rinkles , from stress.

I NEVER WANT TO GET IN TOUCH WITH STRESS AGAIN. It ruined my whole face. Thats how I think?????

But I didn't feel like this for a long time, I didn't think of my ugliness so my BDD was cured for a while????

But now it's returning.

In the past, I usde to be way more bdd-ish.

But it is getting back big time.

Why can't I see what you guys see? ::(:

But thanks anyway. It DOES make me feel better that you guys say so.

All though it's hard to believe! (no joke, I'm serious)

Hey you are pretty, i seen your picture, especially your photo shoot one, so stop thinking that way alright

Agree with that ^ The mirror must have been bought second hand from an amusement park funhouse if you are seeing ugly in it. Or the lighting in the bathroom is to blame as it is the most unflattering. I suspect your employer has installed "ugly" mirrors and "ugly" lighting to cut down on bathroom breaks.

I think you have great features and in particular you have very nice eyes. You aren't ugly at all. But if you keep telling yourself that you look ugly, then sure enough you will believe it.
