All a guy has to do is be kind towards me. Smile at me. Talk to me. Basically, treat me like I am a normal person and not the freak that I am. And bam, I've fallen in love. WTH is wrong with me. by redtear

I've been trapped in a depression of procrastination, social anxiety, avoidant personality disorder, sleep-disorders etc. sitting at home, and basically doing nothing day in day out. I blame a lot of this on my lack of having "structure" in my life, which I obviously need. No job, no classes. Just me and my project. And I blame myself a lot for my... by gustavofring

Lately I've been thinking that my avoidance is just as much (or more) about avoiding emotions than it is about people and relationships- or that perhaps avoiding people is just a side effect of not being able to handle emotions. I get easily overwhelmed- and it may just be part of depression, but in actuality right now I'm not feeling all that... by lurknomore

I feel like I'm developing a victim mentality. Why? Because it's easy. Because it feels good. It feels good to blame other people for my problems. It feels good to never be in the wrong. It feels good to think other people are putting up barriers. I feel important when I give into thinking this way. With so many people and things out to get... by philly2bits

So there is this girl who likes me a lot that i used to like. After knowing her more I decided that I rather be friends with her since she is quite narrow minded and to be honest not the smartest person around ( not just school wise, but personality wise, she is can be quite b*tchy and complains none stop, and I really mean none stop) and we just... by da_illest101

Hello there. It's Friday night and I'm bored, and alone obviously. Mght as well clog this forum up with my life story, seeing as I'm new here, in the hopes of meeting some people in a similarly hopeless situation. This other social anxiety forum I'm on doesn't have a section for avoidant personality. You can probably tell from my slightly... by utterlyinsane

Hello My name is Langston. I am a 22 year old female. I am currently a college student suffering with Avoidant Personality Disorder. I have absolutely zero friends. Whenever I do have friends, they never stay or they make me their last resort. I was reading a different thread, and an user said something along the lines of him having a feeling his life would be over within the next year or two. This is a feeling I have always had. I never imagined anyone else would though. I have always felt my time was soon to be over. As a teenager I never thought I was gonna see my 18th... by redtear

I know most of our days our spent feeling like we are nothing; feeling inadequate in one way or another. But do you ever feel the exact opposite? Do you ever feel smarter or, in some other way, better than the "normal" people? Not just in general either, but almost as an actual result of AvPD. My poor brain feels quite foggy today, and I know... by redtear

Recently my social anxiety has gotten from bad to good in my early 20s to back to BAD in my mid 20s (now). I was in a post office and was low on my meds and I was in a room full of people (a tiny room I might add) and I couldn't handle the quietness so I fled the room (haha I was suppose to wait for my package). I felt they were all staring at... by Imaginary_Hero
