I'm really not that picky. When I meet someone and they have a good heart and a great sense of humor (specifically, my type of humor), I'm sold. But when it comes right down to it and I actually think about traits that I really like in another person, they are as follows:
Like I said, a great sense of humor. That means sarcasm, mostly. My whole family uses sarcasm, and I'd really like to be with someone that can joke the same way and not be offended.
Intelligence is another plus. No, they don't need to have a degree in anything. You can be a very smart person, without having an effing Ph.D or something.
I have a lot of convictions. It would be nice to date someone with similar views. When I see injust, I become fired up and desperate to make it right...even if I can't. I'm very strongly opinionated, and I'd love to be with someone that is, too.
Someone understanding and accepting. Especially of my "mental issues". If I'm having a panic attack, I'd like them to be supportive...not annoyed. Along with other things.
Loyalty is another important factor, of course.
I realize this last one would be difficult to find, but I'd like someone to be the opposite of me in a lot of ways. I mean, having things in common is fantastic, so I do want that. But what I mean is, I'm so scared of almost everything...and it's hard for me to get up and do things to get over my fears and actually live life. I'd like for my partner to be one of those people that pushes me to do things. Yeah, sounds horrible that I'd be depending on someone else to help me through it. I'm just saying, it'd be nice to have someone that's willing to help change me or at least make things a little better.
As far as looks go, I'm not that picky either. I'm not attractive, so why should I expect my partner to be? That isn't fair. But everybody has their own taste. I'm probably more picky with guys than girls, though. I'm attracted to different types of women. Whereas with guys, I hold a pretty strong sense of taste with their looks. That doesn't mean I'm going to turn down somebody just because they aren't what I "prefer". Not at all! But like I said, everybody has their own version of what's attractive. And since this thread asks what our preferences are, I figured I would share.
Jack White. I kind of like (for lack of a better term) "girly" guys, such as him. I'm not really attracted to hugely masculine men. It's just not my thing.
But as far as females go, like I said, I'm attracted to all different types. But I'll say that Kate Winslet is my dream woman. I dig chicks (and guys, as well) with accents.
