the five year engagment. It tried to hard to be funny I think which is why I just didn;t care for it alot. 4/10

your sisters sister. Kinda off beat was not terrible but was not great but I kinda enjoyed it, 5/10

Safety Not Guaranteed. It was listed as a comedy but I felt it was more of a drama and a little quirky but as much as some of it kinda depressed me a little I did like the movie. 7/10

Another  for The African Queen here. Bogart and Hepburn and Huston, oh my! I'm puzzled, however, by your comments. Could you explain why you thought the effects were bad and why you wanted to slap the characters? You're entitled to your opinion, of course, and I'm not suggesting that you're wrong, but merely asking out of curiosity and a love of classic films. :)

When they would pan out to get a somewhat wide shot of Hepburn steering the boat, it suddenly looked like they were in an ocean, not a river. I know that they obviously couldn't have filmed in white water and that the background shots and extra shots were probably the best they had at the time. They just don't stand up to time, IMO. It has no bearing on the quality of the movie, though. It just made me laugh a couple of times.

As for slapping the characters... Every time Bogart talked to Hepburn, he put "Miss" in front of it. And she always said "Mr. Whateverhisnamewas" before she started talking to him, almost without fail. Again, not a big deal. Still a pretty damn good movie. I may start looking at more older movies.

UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem.....4/10 stars

The fighting was cool on some parts, but I find MMA to actually be kind of boring. The main event didn't even go one round and it seems like the fights are 90% filled with pre fight and post fight talk including the entrances and rules.

Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown.....5.5/10 stars

They didn't have much to work with. First one was outstanding in this series, but this one was more of a drag-me-along predictable film.

I thought it was weird how they made the kid who worked in the comic store the loser/dork of the film early on, and then "fixed" him up into mma shape, and then brought him back down to a jerky dork state. Usually movies make the dork a winner, but this one didn't do that. I wasn't sure if they were trying to say that shy outsiders are dorks that can't be trusted, but that was vibe I got.

Also, there was an odd scene where the main woman in the film who is supposed to be the "good girl" of the film says that she's had sex with 17 men b4 (btw she's college age, so that's a ton). I thought that was a very odd thing to put in the movie. Then they have this extremely good looking guy (many of them are in this) who in the movie is the virgin and that was totally unrealistic considering he was very socially confident and good looking. In real life people like him are the ones who get all the ladies.

Pointless sex scene during the movie in a strip club which was also weird.

As you can see I found lots of oddities in this movie.

Something they did well was they nailed the roid rage beefhead mentality that fighters have. The guys who were mma fighters were constantly getting into verbal altercations and even physical at times with eachother.

All in all, the movie was watchable. They did what they could with what little they had to work with.

Hitler: The Rise of Evil: Ssn 1: Ep 1.........6/10 stars

Intriguing and educational. It's in English which takes away the realism but also makes it easier to understand.

I have never seen it until a week or so ago and it was a very good movie, could have been better, but it was better than anything in theatres right now.

Running the Sahara: 7.5/10 stars

Me being a runner, I really could appreciate this film. It's amazing what they did, I don't think many people quite realize what they had to go through to do what they did.

Running long distance is hell, I can't imagine doing it every day for all those miles.

Great picture when they are in the desert and get that sandstorm.

Well documented and great reality tv.

Spirit of the Marathon: 6/10 stars

I watched back to back movies of running, oddly enough.

This one was more of tv type of biography of marathons. Interesting segments and they followed people as they prepared for the marathons.

I deem it watchable.

Louis 10/10

Not a film but a series. :)

Louis CK his show on FX I have been streaming it and he makes me laugh so hard. I recommend it to anyone who can take it.

Warning-not good for people who are easily offended:thumbdown:

A masterpiece. Got bad ratings on netflix due to the slow pace and lifelessness of the film I'm sure. Bad camera work as well.

I just liked the film, though. It was so interesting to me. It was mysterious and creative.

Gun: 6/10 stars

It wasn't so bad. The acting was mediocre at best, but the storyline was entertaining enough to watch and enjoy.
