listening, graem. very nice voice! scottish people intimidate me. i'm afraid they will punch me.

Scottish people are only pronone to violence when drunk. Well... some are.

Ahahahahaa

I don't know why I found that so funny, I just did.

I find English people somewhat intimidating in person, if they have a posh accent, because I feel like they think they are superior to me. Haha. Ridiculous, isn't it? They just sound... more intelligent, or cultured. Pfft :p

Yeah, but posh people can't swear, properly.

lol listen to chavs and that'll sway the intelligent/cultured notion

Same here in Scotland. We call them NEDS (Non-educated delinquents), though. Personally, ma theory is that, if NEDS (Non-educated delinquents), then Chav must mean (Council House Associated Vermin?)

Scottish telephone voice or you're the poshest scot I've ever heard. Will you do us another after a few pints? You know let the braveheart out. lol

Posh?!

Get tae fu... that's ma telephone voice. If yer serious about the pints? I might consider it, could be a f**kin' shambles but... I'll consider it. Or... drop the annuication altogether and speak mostly in the Scots language/dialect? And maybe a wee rant about the movie Braveheart!

Graeme, you have the perfect voice/demeanor for like video commentary. Not even kidding.

Really? Cool! Thanks for the compliments, everybody.

It's a good thing you were speaking sloooowly or I might not have been able to understand it! Your accent is awesome though - love it! :)

The vast majority of us don't have a posh voice, that's a hollywood myth

Graeme you sound cool as hell.

Thanks very much!

Graeme, I liked it. For some reason I imagined you as a head mobster negotiating money.

^ Haha as did I. I don't even know why I thought that either. Awesome voice, Graeme

Aw, youse saw that National Geographic documentary about gang-related organised crime in Glasgow, as well?. Oddly enough, I do have a couple of books about that subject. Though, Glasgow, Scotland isn't as violent a city as it use to be. Just crazy (and I mean that in a nice way).

Graeme1988 - you sound less like Billy Connolly and more like Sean Connery!!

I'll take being compare to either of those legendary Scots as a great compliment. Though, keep in mind, that's me speakin' much slower than usual. And sober, obviously.

Here's a few Scottish words translated into English.

Sorry for lack of pronunciation. Or the fact I've not put the words in alphabetical order, and are seemingly random (other than the words which rhyme).

The reason being, that you actually have to hear the Scots words said, phonetically, in the Scottish accent, obviously. :D

Nice to see some familiar phrases online. Being from Northern Ireland (Scotland's little brother) I barely even notice your accent. :)

I'm not sure if it was because you spoke slowly or not, but you do sound somewhat like Sean Connery!

Probably because I was speaking a lot slower than usual, I'd say. :D

Hello, again. Am pretty drunk during this recording, so I've absolutely nae idea what am sayin' :giggle:

Chirbit - Rambling - Graeme1988 - share audio easily

PS: If the volume is still an issue, I'll try connecting ma recording equipment to an external speaker next time. I've just been using the wee speaker that came with the recorder I bought, and it's more of a practise amplifier than anything else.
