Hie yer hence from me heath!
Well, that was a waste o' time. As Christmas has been for me the past 15 or so years. Sorry to be such a downer folks, but when yer forced to be around family that you barely get along with, this time of year isn't all that great.

I'm thankful that my Christmases have gradually downsized from having to see both sides of the extended family as a kid, to one side as a young adult, then fewer of them more erratically, then just immediate family the last few years, the hours of that visit shrinking a bit, and finally just me visiting my parents for a couple hours around a fire outside today (COVID keeping my sister and her husband away, not that I hate them but my sister can be draining). It's so much more emotionally manageable and non-threatening than it used to be.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday this year, even with 2020 being a complete dumpster fire. Finished the rest of the Christmases today and have to say I've had a great weekend! Everyone loved their gifts and I enjoyed everything I received as well. Also all the food that was made and shared... Ugh, so freaking good. 🤤 Now I'm ready to move on. Come on 2021, please be a good one!

Wonderful? Don't know if I'd describe mine as that. Though, there wasn't massive argument involving my older sisters, or row started because I didn't stick around after the dinner. Something the middle child uses to repeatly question; not realising, she's the reason for it. So, that's a plus.

I mean, I still feel as anxious around my family as far as interacting with them socially. And as out of place n' awkward sat at the head o' the table.

As for next year, 2021: if one rescheduled concerts that I had a ticket for this year actually goes ahead, I'll be happy. If the restrictions get eased enough by the spring that I can book my summer weekend in Edinburgh, I'll be even happier.

I love it when I'm out and about driving like a perfectly good driver and an ignorant fool gets mad at me because he doesn't know the rules of the road. Study the fucking driver handbook, dummy.

Looks like I'll be spending the last days of 2020 under quarantine. I did want my husband off from work a little while longer to actually finish some things around the house but this really wasn't what I had in mind. 😒 Sister-in-law tested positive the other day for COVID with zero symptoms, whom we saw over the weekend for the holiday. Both my husband and I have been really careful all year, have only attended a few gatherings with our immediate families only (which is around 10 people or less depending on whether it's mine or his side) and only knowing when others were safe. Even then there were a few events I skipped out on just to stay safe as well. Father-in-law actually caught it from work a few months back, but we hadn't seen him in the time frame when he was infected, and we all still stayed away from each other for a good month until we all knew he was cleared and healthy and the doctor gave the okay. Guess you still can't be too careful and there's always a risk. 🤷‍♀️ Thankfully no one has had any symptoms or has been sick thus far. Neither of us have been prompted to get tested either. Just monitoring for any symptoms and of course no work for either us until middle of next week.

Hope you and your husband managed to dodge it. Wishing your sister-in-law the best!

Imagine if there was an SPW exchange program.

We could all swap places for a week and see who actually had the shittiest life.
Imagine if it involved time travel too and the ability to just relive someone else's life. Like comparing each other's shittiest years to really see when it all started going downhill or gotten worse. 🤔

Anyone want to relive my 2020? 🤷 How about any year between 2005 - 2011?

That would be quite the experience.

Right this way, ladies and gentlemen, you must be be this screwed-up to ride!

This is *really* helpful for anyone with self esteem issues. I have horrible convos with myself and I am my own worst enemy always. These are tools ro keep from being that way. It’s weird I thought everyone was their own worst critic turns out healthy people are always just telling themselves how great they are and never questioning it. Sounds simple enough .....
