^You're not alone. I used to get made fun of and bullied too, whether I sit in the back or front. I wished people could just leave me alone.

I'm confused as far as friendships go. It seems to be really hard to find people to relate to, when you're trying to relate to people who have their lives so up and running and you're in a more contemplative, meditative state of re-examining life, or in a depression.

I met up with an old friend from HS and thought it would go really well because she and I got along quite well before I was depressed, when I was more light hearted and less thinky. But I still feel as if I can't connect to her because she seems to be looking for things to do all the time, whereas my main focus is looking for interesting things to contemplate, or peaceful things to do that don't require constant searching for new excitement. Hard to connect to people,.... find people that ya jive with....

Maybe it's because i'm so out of the loop, they have jobs and college and for me, it's an acheivement just to get up before 1pm, so our lives are not relatable? Maybe it really takes going through tons and tons of people to find another friend that is on some similar level as you? I'm not sure.

It is impossible to find new bedroom furniture.:veryangry: I've been looking for a while. I went out shopping today and I just can not find what I want.

My bed is shot. The casters have cracked and crumbled. The mattress has a spring poking right through the foam topper and a giant dip in the middle from all the years I spent sitting on it doing homework or on my laptop. My desk has spent more time buried under crap than in a clean and useable state. I've never really had nice bedroom furniture. I've got a dresser that's kinda scratched and the mirror is wearing away. It was my mom's when she was a kid. The closest thing I have to a nightstand is a plastic rolly cart. I used a mini-table at one time. There was a set that my parents were going to buy me when I was a kid, but somehow that fell through and all I ever got was a desk.

Nothing has ever matched. I want a new bed, a dresser, and a nightstand. The desk is sort of a bamboo/honey shade. Good luck matching anything with that. Damn near everything is fricken dark. Why? The only reason dark is popular is because people don't have much of a choice. I bet more people would buy light furniture if there were actually more styles to choose from. Most styles come in only one colour.

I need to find something on legs. The nightstand is going to sit right by a vent and there has to be airflow. That rules out more than half of my choices right there.

To top things off, I have a small bedroom. I only have room for a twin bed. I'd love a bigger bed. Not that anyone else is ever going to sleep in it, but my cat is a bed hog. I can't even squeeze in a double, though, or there'd be no place to walk. Very few styles are available from twin up to king. Adult furniture tends to come in king and queen, maybe double. Most adults want enough space for another person. I'm 27 years old and I'm basically limited to youth bedroom sets.

So I'm pretty much SOL. What I need is almost non-existent. I found one company that makes exactly what I want and it's good quality. Most of their sets are on legs and come in different colours. The beds come in all sizes and can be mixed and matched with different collections. Too expensive though. I'd like to move out in a couple of years. Then I'll just have to get new furniture all over again. Then I will be able to buy a bigger bed. I can't just wait until then. The crap I have is worn out. If I could be guaranteed I could get a larger matching bed, and maybe another piece or two in the future, then I'd just go ahead and buy it. But who knows? With my luck it'll be discontinued. It isn't worth the risk.

My only option is to settle for something that doesn't match. Almost everything is dark. Even the light furniture is usually too light. I've been to so many stores. I've checked websites. Even the few sets I've found that are the right colour, either aren't on legs, or the dresser is too small or some crap like that. A lot of the youth bedroom sets have smaller dressers and I have a lot of clothes. I can't win. This is getting depressing already.

When I moved into my new flat last year, I decided for this bed, awkwardamanda. I like it quite a lot (my version is in black, not grey as on the photo).

Had yesterday a heavy migraine attack. Haven't had any for nearly a year.

About two hours after lunch break, I started to have problems with my eyesight. I had to stop working, since I couldn't really read the program code anymore, and chatted with a coworker. About 45 minutes later it got somewhat away.
Another hour later or so it came back, worse. Not only the eye problems again, but also dizzyness and a feeling of sickness, really bad. My boss said that I could leave an hour early if I'd want to.
When I finally got home after a long bike ride, I thought that a hot shower would help to relax, but it didn't. So I dropped right into my bed at about six pm. About two hours later, my phone woke me up, since I wanted to meet with friends to cook something. My eyesight has turned normal again, but I still had some sort of a headache and felt sick. It took quite some willpower, but I got up anyway and went to that friend. She got migraine too every now and then, gave me some pill, and I felt a bit better.

She, another friend and I had a dinner, that... Well, you had a large leaf of napa cabbage, added a seasoning paste that we made of miso paste, sesame oil, cream and spring onions. Then added rice, fried vegetables (sweet potato slices, bell pepper, carrots), some more spring onions, and then meat marinated in soy sauce. And then you had to wrap it up. Very tasty.

Now, the following day, I feel ok, still slightly dizzy.

After work today, I will meet with a friend whom I haven't seen for two months ago, and we'll go to a swimming hall. I haven't been swimming with that friend yet, and haven't been to that particular swimming hall yet, but I hope itwill be nice.

On saturday I will attend a board game evening, on sunday a p&p RPG afternoon, and maybe video evening afterwards.

I'm not a fan of the metal frames. I prefer wood. And that would never match a dresser. I'm trying to find three matching even pieces, even the desk is gonna stick out like a sore thumb. But thanks anyway.

Have you looked on Craigslist (or the equivalent if you don't have that where you live)? I got the Pottery Barn desk set I liked (but didn't want to pay the astronomical PB price for) from CL. It's like new new too! I've been buying matching pieces here and there from CL as well. You'd be amazed at the nice stuff people no longer want that you can get for much less than retail!
