Most ridiculous times to be anxious?

Even though everyone is anxious for different reasons, we can recognise when things are ridiculous to be anxious for.. What's yours?
At the moment my flat mates are downstairs, and I really want my froyo in the freezer, but its making me anxious that I'd have to talk to them, so I'm instead going froyo less. Silly!

I am not sure what a froyo is? I guess it's a drink or a yogurt or something right? Anyway I think basically all of my anxiety is ridiculous. Except for a rare few times. I get anxiety even if I am not doing stuff that requires socializing.

I get anxious even when someone friendly says hi to me in public places. Any stranger is a potential trigger of my anxiety. I have no problem walking and minding my own business, but as soon as someone tries to talk to me, my anxiety perks up and self defenses are activated.

Years ago, I was a little overdue getting the oil changed in my car. Instead of sucking it up and taking the car in, I avoided it because I didn't want to deal with the guys at the oil change place, in case they mentioned that I should've done it earlier. So...I didn't get the oil changed, or even check the oil and the car started making a weird noise one day and just...stopped. I had to flag down a tow truck and talk to the oil change guys AND buy a new engine. I felt so stupid, and it's all because I didn't want to talk to some guys.

When I'm waiting in line at a store or something,My anxiety grows and grows the closer it gets to being my turn.
I stress out about what my answer should be to the inevitable question "Hello, how are you?" from the cashier.
And how I'm going to say it.

Self checkout counters were a godsend.

I agree, self serves are great, especially when the service in the supermarket is crap.

And yes froyo is frozen yogurt haha. I never got it!

I've spoken to others without SP and come to the conclusion that checkouts are universally awkward, regardless of who you are.
I do get this 'cashier anxiety' on and off... :s If I don't think about it, it doesn't seem to matter... but if I'm having a bad day, it is a big problem. :/ Typically the SP me would prefer self-serve for obvious reasons, but the real me is usually too lazy so would rather go to a checkout :p Guess it depends who's winning.

I was a cashier or a server in the deli at Coles for years.. having to serve people really quickly when it was busy was a huggggggge anxiety issue for me.

I remember this from when I use to share a house too! I would spend ages plucking up the courage to walk past them to get a drink or a snack, sometimes could not get the nerve at all. I felt like I would have to attempt breezy small talk, and also felt bad for hurrying back to my room and not socialising. One plus though was that I was very thin during those years, at least it helped me not to over eat!

It got worse today as they asked why I'm never downstairs or hang out with them. Makes me want to hoard food in my room though. We don't have a lounge room so makes it hard, they are always in kitchen. And they smoke in there which I detest.

While waiting in the waiting room to see a normal doctor (GP) when I am sick, the flu etc, my heart is thumping out of my chest and I am shaking.

I have these anxious thoughts that the doctor won't believe that I am really sick. :kickingmyself:

The only time I don't panic in the waiting room is if I know I have a high fever. Because you can't fake a fever, so the doctor will definitely believe me then.

Watching TV whilst feeling anxious. It is better now that I have a Lazy Boy rocker recliner.
