I was at the fish-stand earlier today (boy my life is one big adventure) and there was some other customer next to me, big gorilla of a guy, red-tanned from the sun, baseball cap, sports jeans, big mouth, kind of friendly-agressively looking around himself, you know, all in all a bit of an intimidating fellow. (body language)
I didn't say anything, nor look at him, but I felt he was watching me and he was talking loudly to the fish-saleswomen (fish-wives?). I always get very timid around these sorts of "big personalities". In this case it's a low-class kind of guy, but I've also had the same with preppy Alpha male type guys.
I just feel really unpleasant around them, like I suspect they might judge me for being less "manly", or weaker or something. I don't actually feel that way, but I know these guys draw a lot of their energy from "preying on the weak" to secure their ego-status. Or that's what goes through me at such a point (no matter wether it actually strokes with reality). And I have absolutely no need to "compete" with them, so I just kind of fall back into timidness.
Do any of you have issues like this as well?
