Is it wrong that I don't like shopping?

As I mentioned in the previous post here, though, I could spend a good hour in a metal store. Equip me with a thousand dollars and I guarantee it will be gone in one transaction.
At the risk of sounding nerdier than I already am, what exactly would you come out of a metal store with after dropping a grand?

Don't forget cheaper. This rings extra true for Australians. This country is one of the most expensive in the world, and buying online from American stores and getting it shipped here can be half the price. My mate has bought clothes from an American shop online (Dr. Jays) and prices for the same garments and shoes if in Australia would be double.

As much as it's going to hurt businesses here, I'm going to endeavour to do a lot more online, overseas shopping.
Hard to believe anywhere could be more expensive than here! Plus, you have cooler stuff than we do!

I'm talking about heavy metal, and the answer is heaps! With CD's in Australia costing nearly $30, and the fact that, if I went to the right store, I could buy upwards of 20 CD's, that's already $500. Plus there's shirts and other apparel. That could be $800 wiped out. Then I could go back to the CD's and find stuff I haven't heard before but wouldn't mind "blind purchasing," so that's your $1,000. :)

I don't think Australia has cooler stuff than America! Haha. Plus yes, your country is a lot cheaper to buy from.

To put it into perspective, I bought a cymbal for my drums from America on eBay. This particular cymbal would've cost about $600 in a store here, and it was costing a little less from Australian dealers on eBay. Managed to score it for about $230 including shipping overseas. So the mark-up here was over double. A lot of Australians are turning to online buying, and it's no wonder.

I know at least three people off the top of my head who hate this country for many reasons, and one of them is the expensive and blatantly rip-off stores we have here.

I'm not a girl but I don't like shoping (or anything outside home, btw).

I don't know what makes someone a tomboy or girly, those are just labels and I don't really like them. You are who you are, what you prefer doesn't make you weird as we are all different and we all like different things, so you are just as normal as everyone else.

I like shopping (no, more like love :p) I wear frilly, girly things, and I am not afraid of most bugs. I am a stereotypical girl I suppose. I don't have a problem being this way, and I don't have a problem with girls who are not like this. I say, to each their own. But if you ever have a makeup question, feel free to ask me! :)

Thanks. :)

You sound very similar to me. I, too, wear plain clothing (although I do love fashion. I'm just too afraid to experiment. ::eek::), like to play video games, like fixing my hair, and I'm afraid of bugs. I don't play sports either and never got into climbing trees. It's not wrong at all for a girl to like or dislike what she does. (Same goes for guys too) I'm a girl and I really like shopping. Heck, I have friends that are much girlier than I am, yet they hate shopping! Kinda baffles me, heh. I've been called weird for my tastes too, not being more girly and whatnot. I don't really care anymore. I like what I like, I dislike what I dislike. It's just how it is.

Ok, so I wouldn't necessarily call myself a tomboy. I do like to play video games, and wear plain, simple clothing ect. However, I don't play sports, I don't climb trees, and I'm afraid of bugs. The only two girly things i like to do are fixing my hair and painting my nails. I'm not a huge fan of make-up or jewelery. I could care less about that stuff. Now, besides all that, some people think I'm weird for not choosing girly clothes, or make-up. Some of them said I might change my mind as i get older. I mean, I used to hate shopping as a kid and I still do. Are there any girls like me who have this problem? Is it wrong I that I don't like shopping? Plus, do you think I'm a Tomboy or a Girly girl?

it is RIGHT that u dont like shopping !
I am a girl too, I think ?! And I hate shopping. Its materialistic, it involves PEOPLE and fake smalltalk.

First of all, high five for playing video games, having a simple style, and not caring about make-up and jewelry! :D

Second of all, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with not liking to shop. You would be quite surprised to know how many other girls out there play video games and dislike make-up, jewelry, shopping, etc. Heck, you’re looking at one right now! Err well, reading the post of one I should say ::p:
But yeah I’ve always hated shopping and I personally prefer to do the majority of my shopping online. Makes things a lot easier on my anxiety.

I can also easily relate to you in being thought of as “weird” because you don’t like shopping. Girls give me looks all the time because I dress so casually, never wear make-up, and don’t use 20 cans of hairspray on my hair. I wouldn’t label myself as a tomboy but I am bi so maybe that has something to do with the way I act/dress?

Anyway, there really isn’t anything wrong with you and you’re not a tomboy or a girly-girl. You like what you like and you are who you are. Don’t allow society to place such ridiculous labels on you just because the way you act doesn’t meet the standards of the so-called and completely BS “norm”. You’re too good for that :)

I also like to shop online. I just like shopping! A lot of things can be found cheaper online. Sometimes when I see something I like in a store, I will make a note about it and search for it online to see if I can get it for cheaper. I like nothing better than getting good deals!

A lot easier on the wallet, too! Online shopping is a lot cheaper, at least in Australia. I'm going to be doing more of that. Bugger our economy! ::p:

Well there is the extra cost that comes with shipping, but I do have an easier time coming across sales online and getting things for half the price I probably would have had to pay for in person.

Even with shipping, it still turns out to be cheaper than in stores here. Plus with the Australian dollar at parity with the American dollar it makes sense.

I guess at stores you're paying for convenience of it being there, right now.

i like shopping, i also like girls

When I was a little kid I saw a naked lady walking around the shopping mall I was trying to run up next to her legs but couldn't only because I was so far away, she later got arrested.

Yeah I like shopping I just need to actually go shopping if I had like $2,000,000 or more I would get my fix on, don't me to sound greedy but it's true.

I know a number of girls who don't really like shopping either, so it's perfectly normal, nothing wrong with it.

I do like shopping though! One way in which I'm stereotypically a girly girl, haha.

Lions, THANK GOD you don't like shopping!! :) LOL!!

I think this society (or at least a large part of it) is WAY too obsessed with materialism and shopping and other 'insignificant' things!!
Sometimes, it may be a 'cure' for other problems - miserable about marriage/life/world - 'ah! I'll go shopping and everything will be better!!' (??) Yikes!!

I'm really happy that there are people who AREN'T obsessed with shopping or big name brands or such!! :)
