If you don't like mathematics, why?

It's just too confusing and I can't get my head around it and always end up getting things wrong,And when I think I have an idea and I do a sum but it still comes out wrong I just feel like tearing up the copy.I understand some people are very good at maths but i dont understand how they enjoy it.

Plus having SA means i cant pluck up the courage to ask for help

It's not my thing. Lots of work and no creativity. No room to breathe. Math is a precise language not meant to be tweaked for self-expression.

I prefer art and philosophy.

Exactly. Everything in mathematics is set in concrete. There are about six laws of mathematics I think, such as the associative and commutative laws. They tend to say that everything is mathematics is strictly disciplined or predetermined. For example, 2 + 6 = 6 + 2. There is some creativity in working out why mathematics works the way it does, such as providing proofs why things happen in a particular way, but that happens extremely rarely, and very few do that. Mostly it is applying a methodology to arrive at the one and only correct answer.

its so uninteresting, I dont feel like any of the math I do in highschool is going to help me in the real world. out of school. I mean yeah, this math will help me do the college math. its so boring. all these proofs. we literally all day in class define proofs foor different problems why something is the way it is. I have something of over 100 proofs alond defined with examples from this year. soooo boring. I also hate how my teacher teaches it which makes things worse for any subject.

I like art and social studies more. social studies is sooo easy, but I also find some of it interesting. but it seems like there is always bias with my teachers or at least they have to throw a little of there political leaning in with the lesson. anyways, I sappose my math teacher doesnt do that? Am I rambling?

I have dyscalculia.
I can not even begin to understand numbers-- math is just frustrating for me.

My sister on the other hand, took calculus all through highschool and university and found it quite easy.

We have very different skill sets. Mine just doesn't include mathematics or numbers in any way, shape or form.

I just can't see any practical purpose for it! Which is odd because it's probably a lot more practical than the sciences or english. I just don't like it!

Math has always been difficult to me. I could never really wrap my head around all those numbers and equations. Although, I've always liked doing proportions and percentages...

Even though I use Maths really quite a lot I am not particularly good at it.
You will never find me doing it without a calculator in my hand!

In junior high and high school, I loved algebra. I remember feeling so good being able to solve for x or figure out some equation. It was the first time I felt like I was truly understanding math. Then I had to take geometry (Geometric proofs are of the devil! I still don't understand them.), trigonometry, and calculus. They left a bad taste in my metaphorical algebra-loving mouth. I don't have any solid proof (pun intended), but I'm pretty sure I didn't actually pass trig or calculus and the teacher just passed me to get me out of his classroom. Oh well, I'll take it. :)

In college I took a pretty easy math class; it was an honors class and there were literally 4 students, including myself. Then I took statistics. Holy hell Batman! I understand the basics of statistics, but all of the weird formulas that you have to go through to find the answer that you can just pull out of your noggin is insane. No me gusta.

The older I got the more I liked it and was better. Really HS I sucked. College I took a Trig and a Statistics class - not crazy hard math but I got a lot more randomly. Was weird.

I like the logic and clarity of math (well when understand it). Numbers dont lie so to speak. However I still dislike it from bad memories in HS and earlier... wouldnt want to do any advanced stuff.

Hmmm.. I just think its kinda boring, not that I'm not good at math. I just like biology and chemistry more.

I like art the most ofcause.. :)
