Good thing I didn't buy NBA 2k16, it doesn't seem worth the money judging by most reviews. One thing that I was really hyped for this year was My Career mode, because they made it seem like there was this awesome story and you'd have a ton of freedom to do whatever you wanted with your career. But apparently it's the opposite: it's a terrible, predictable story, you can't make any choices, and it's basically Freq's Career. Freq is the nickname of the main character; yes, you can't even choose that this year. Everyone will call you Freq, and the story behind that nickname is really stupid.
You're the not-adopted son of a poor black family (even if you're white; and you can't be asian).
They have this huge cutscene that makes it seem like you have the choice of staying one more year in college or declaring for the NBA draft, but in the end you can't really choose anything. Apparently you only play 8 games in your first season, even though a season has 82 games and you were already on your team when the season started.
The only choices you make is what position you play and which college team you play for, and you only play 4 games with them anyway. How is that "my career"?
