    Someone told me a while ago that good times always come back eventually, and I think that's pretty much true. Hopefully all the 2020 crappiness is on its way out. I'm optimistic.

    Yes, I hope so too. I have a lot of little resolutions I'll be working on starting in January. I never used to bother with them, but I find they really help me keep my life on track and help with guiding me towards more long-term goals as well. :)

    I worked in a factory the last 3ish years, and then transferred to this brand new job in November. A completely different environment and field, but honestly I think I'd rather be doing the (literally) shitty factory work. I was working with machines every day and I kinda liked it. I ultimately left though because it was physically exhausting and management sucked. I at least had friends there though. :(

    The McDonald's life is well behind me at this point. Now I'm a database programmer for a little company that makes education software. Can't complain at all. And yeah, having people you like working with definitely helps.

    Is it that you don't like the field as much as you thought, or just your specific job right now?

    Oh that's good! Sounds like you found your niche. I like my field, I just hate my particular job. It's not entirely what I expected it would be, and I really can't relate to any of my co-workers since they're older than me. Plus I really don't like my boss, as she can be a very rude person. I did apply for another job in my field, but it's more along the lines of what I'd like to do.

    I read your posts about working in customer service. I can absolutely relate.

    This is a don't by some of my favorite artist.... I feel like it was my anthem while I worked in customer service. Still is to some extent.

    Well as long as you enjoy your field of study, I'd say you're doing better than most people. I've always been surprised at how many people don't really seem to care for their subject of choice.

    You could do what I've done, not that I'd recommend it, and just not take part in any culture.

    Nowadays I'm almost always the oldest person in my classes, and it seems like people just 2 or 3 years younger than me are from a totally different generation. We have nothing in common. Old timers like me don't understand you kids with your fancy mobile games and such. ::p:

    School isn't so bad if you can find a way to enjoy it.

    I've been busy finishing my last semester of college. I'm finally almost done after only 6 short years. Otherwise I'm just hanging in there.

    Yes it was a summer job, and yes I've passed the 4 year mark since I started college, but for reasons, I won't be done until next fall.

    Selling cars? Heh. No, I was just washing cars for a couple months, then I've been unemployed (and in school) ever since.
