That's great Pheonixx :) good luck with it today, but I don't really think you'll need luck.. nerves are normal but I have a feeling you'll do really well.
In regards to the laptop, you could always take it and make the decision to use it a few minutes into the meeting. If you decide you want to take notes you could say ''would you mind if I took a few notes *insert future employers name here*?". I'm sure most employers would see that as a positive thing. (y)
Thanks! Yesterday went really well. I ended up taking my laptop, but didn't even use it because we were conversing so much. Things definitely changed and instead of actually networking we ended up discussing ideas and project proposals for the future and what I wanted to do if I were to be employed, and sure enough she told me she wanted to start to fit me in soon! She wants to start out with shadowing for a few weeks, and then once I officially start it'll only be part time, but with room to grow to become full-time. I am so excited about this, I have wanted this for a long time and it's hard to believe it's actually happening!

Well done Phoenixx! (SPW members go crazy with applause)

Well part time is a start, a foot in the door. A chance to show them what you can do. You go girl! I'm happy for you

I hate the fact that when it comes to fight or flight, especially with my driving anxiety, I choose the latter. I know I need to drive more to build my muscle memory as such however I renew my travel pass because, in that moment when I had to decide, I chose flight. I don't think I really object to public transport, I like to be able to listen to podcasts and read books. I wish there was someone (I open up to my wife sometimes but she's on the receiving end of my uncommunicative moments) I could ask for help and not be looked down upon on areas of driving I get most anxious about

Did a small book signing yesterday (my first). It wasn't nearly as dreadful as I thought it was going to be. I actually enjoyed it and wouldn't mind having the opportunity again.
That’s friggin awesome! Being a member of this online community and having that level of success in something is very inspiring. I’d love for you to post more about your story.
Kudos! That really is something to be proud of. May you publish many more in the yrs to come.

Thanks Molly. It's something I've aspired to for years. This year I just decided to be focused and get it done. I'm working on the second which I just started. So far, it's a little slow going but that's okay.

There's a person I know that looks down on me because I work so much. I'm not sure they understand that the only way to financial and career success is through work. I am trying to improve my life. What the fuck are they doing? Watching TV? Get the fuck outta here.
