Having the urge to hide in my house forever, or wear a paper bag over my head. I am humiliated. I don't care what anyone says, being told you "look like a little kid" and "15" is downright DEGRADING when you're nearly 24 years old. I feel disgusted with myself, I need a mask.

I'm about to watch the Fright Night remake from 2011.

I've gotten over my bitterness that it was remade in the first place, so now maybe I can appreciate this one based on its own merits or whatever. I have a creeping feeling that I'm going to hate it, though.

THEN I'm gonna watch its sequel, which apparently features none of the actors from the first film and teleported directly to DVD. I liked the original sequel, but mostly for Uncle Rico, who played werewolves non-stop in the eighties.

I am one fatalistic/masochistic 'mofo.

I put up a

"Please do not feed the anxiety" sign on my desk.

It received a mixed reception. That'll get the tongues wagging.

An armchair expert in the office suggested "It's not anxiety, it is a bad attitude."

Yeah, I'm cured!!! What would those pesky psychologists know?

Meanwhile my new initiative, The "Send Kiwong to Thistle Island fund", has not garnered much support. It looks like a great place to spend the rest of my days in solitude.

It's different enough from the original that I was comfortable with the idea of watching it as a completely different, unrelated story. Helped keep me from comparing the two.

maybe you should relocate to the midwest, where people just talk behind your back rather than being rude and insulting you to your face

A bad attitude? And how would they know it isn't anxiety? I think my "mind-bogglingly idiotic people" quota has been filled today.

I'm sorry that happened...

Thanks Opaline, the same person also said to me "You're weird." She was right, I do have a mental illness. I really feel unwell when she is around.

I think people mostly expect these things to have really specific characteristics... people will probably be more likely to believe you have SA if you're not trying to draw attention to yourself in any way. I know this isn't how it always works, but it's what 'normal' people understand.

I may as well have neon lights, the way my anxiety draws attention to me. People respond in all sort of ways, it is really interesting to see just how dysfunctional some of those responses are. That is if it didn't cause me so much pain.

As a depression sufferer for over 13 years, I really want to get involved with beyondblue, but every time I go to their website, they're not looking for any more volunteers. I want to contribute more than just mindless donations. I think in time I will be doing some work for this wonderful organisation.

They're doing a national bus tour, but they won't hit my area until February - 11 months away.

The fact that you want to help speaks volumes about your character Mikey! 11 months may seem like forever but time passes so quickly it will be here before you know it!
