How are you feeling?

So I decided to help mum with the cooking today. One of the first things out of her mouth was, "dad and I have noticed you're coming out of your shell." She was referring to my depression. I said, "appearances can sometimes be deceiving." Then she goes on about how I shouldn't be depressed. And how she's getting over her agoraphobia and she didn't need a therapist for it.

That got me down a bit and I told her that the band I'm in is releasing an album next week, and she said, "oh, wow." And that was it: no follow-up questions. She then went on about how the onions she was cutting were hurting her eyes. I guess she didn't really care.

This is why I don't talk to them much.

I'm trying to not let her get to me but she has.
^ I'm sorry to hear that Mikey. Maybe you should bring it up with her though? Like Buzz said, just tell her you want to be more open with her. Maybe it's not so much that she doesn't care as it is she doesn't know how to approach certain subjects because she doesn't know anything about them. I think we've all been there, especially me. Someone says something or tells me about something that I have no idea about, and rather than asking a lot of questions because I think I'd look dumb, I just say "yeah" or "okay" and even "oh wow." Funny, because that makes me look even dumber and uncaring.

^ Ouch. That's always painful. ::(: Are you getting them removed soon? Or are they just bothering you at the moment?
Nah, one of them made his appearance a while ago and it only started hurting today, but I think there is no room for it and it's coming in sideways, so I will probably have to get them removed someday.

Almost everything in my genes is the same as my father. He still has 3 wisdom teeth that growed properly, but I guess I only have his bad traits
Well, for now it's the first one I have, I hope the rest don't even exist >.>

^ Ah, I see. That's how my wisdom teeth were. Grew in sideways, and they were wedged underneath my back molars so it was pushing all my teeth. They hurt, and while it was kinda scary to go through the process of getting them removed, and being a very painful few weeks afterwards, I'm so happy I did get them removed.

I hope the rest don't exist for you either. Lucky for me, I only had two bottom wisdom teeth. That's it. I never got my top ones and never will.

really bad. I think I lost faith in people and have no reason to continue struggling with life. My mind is torturing me. I think I've gone crazy or something

feeling like ****,I want to try working in something other than a factory,I am working in factories since I was 16,uh not a nice place to work,I would even try supermarkets, also feeling really lonely wish I could turn this off, really feeling like I want to go to my homecountry or another country next year.

hi olhos, what country are u in now? are u still in japan? what kind of factory work do you do? i can imagine... i am also planning on moving on to a new job and quit later this year... i say go for it, do something new.. i wanna actually leave my job and work free lance, though no one in my family will agree with it that its a good idea of course. But, i hope you can hold on til its time, and look forward to something new.. until the time finally arrives!

im sorry mikey, have u ever told ur mom like 'hey mom.. u know were like kind of a big deal?? did you see our youtube video and see how many likes we have? and most people can only dream of doing what were doing... but that it is seriously something that is very important for you. and this makes you happy.

well.. u know i dont expect my family to change either... ive seen my other siblings who are all older than me talking with my dad and telling about their career plans... nothing ever changes, they don't appreciate or understand things like 'passion, doing what you want' and i dont expect they ever will :) i can expect my family will always not understand. i guess it comes as sort of a given and at least.. i dont need to be 'surprised' or 'throw a fit' when they disapprove of any of my plans, because i expect it.. i dont seek approval from them though... actually when the thought comes of seeking approval, i start thinking about the bad stuff again.. that its them that need to accept me, not the other way around of me trying to prove myself.. anyway, dont know if im being helpful blabbing on... but i hope u feel better

Its so not lame. I think your poetry is great. Atleast you can express your feelings, I'm stuck with my stories and don't even know how to express myself properly.

I want to approach her about what she said but it's been too long now and she's likely forgotten about it now. Maybe you're right and she didn't really know what to say. I don't know.

We're not really that big of a deal, but thanks, heh. I agree that getting approval means more from some than from others. I see what you're saying in that I don't expect approval from them, but rather more acceptance that what I'm doing is worthy.

Thanks for the replies from both of you.

Day before a new job is quite jittery, yeah. I'm sure you'll be fine, mate. Good luck. :)

^ hey mikey, don't fret about it too much, parents are like that. My parents despise what I do, I was kicked out by my dad for going on tour with my last band lol, but whatever, he doesn't even listen to music, he hates music(the first and only person I know who actually hates music), he gets into a vehicle and the first thing he does is turn the radio off lol. If you're digging what you're doing then keep at it, I am. But yeah, its still tough when the folks don't acknowledge your hard work.

Thanks. My dad was actually kicked out of his home because of music, so there's similarities there. I'll keep doing what I like doing, whether or not they agree.

Now I'm upset for different reasons. It's 4:35am so hopefully a few hours at work will help me.
