I had sex with my gf the first night I met her (well, just oral sex, if that counts) but she did sleep in my bed that night. And we've been together for 9+ years and counting.

YEs for some strange reason i feel that sex is a good ice breaker for me, obviously that's not very practical for all social situations ;)

Hehe yeah sadly it's ice breaking qualities are limited outside of relationships ::p: Though I am glad someone else agree's!

Maybe after you have shared something where you both let go of your inhibitions is maybe why it breaks the ice.I think that's why it works for me anyway.

Well I believe, we all have urges and would love to experience something really passionate if the opportunity shows up, then again there are consequences to being impulsive. From experience, I've learned that someone could appear to be Mr. Wonderful one day and be the complete opposite the next day. So anyone can be easily fool and I mean both men and women. I think it's worth waiting for that special moment. If there are true feelings between the two, I'm sure it wouldn't matter how long you wait. :)

I never saw the point in making rules about this sort of thing. It depends on the situation. If I'm not feeling it, I wouldn't do anything but if I was? Hell yes I would. Why would I hold back?
